Flower question

Hi ladies.
i don't mean to be nosey here but what are you paying for all your flowers in total?
I am using my moh's dad's best friend but i just wanted to make sure i am getting a 'discount'.
i didnt go to him yet but will soon.

Hi Jenn! We're spending about $3000 for everything. That's for 2-flower arrangements for my grandfather's foyer, 18-centerpieces, rose petals, 4-white birch trees w/lights, loose flowers to decorate cake, my Bo-k, bridesmaids, flowergirl basket and wreath for her hair, 2-moms, 4-grandmothers, groom & ushers. They actually gave us a 'discount' because while my Mom was talking to the florist it turns out he grew up in the same neighborhood as she did... I'm not so sure if I received a discount or not, but from shopping around I thought I did pretty good. Hope this helps!!

hee hee, sorry Jenn, here you go:

1 Bridal Bouquet - White casablanca lillies and Peach Asiatic Lillies
1 Throw away - peach/white roses
4 MOH - GORGEOUS handtied peach/white roses w/million stars. (pretty big)
5 BM- A little smaller version of MOH
2 Jr. BM - even smaller version of same
2 FG- baskets w/petals and stationary flowers (peach/white roses I think) for after the petals are thrown, that way, they don't have an empty basket for pics
1 minibride - much smaller version of bridal bouquet
4 corsages - 1 huge peach rose, with 4-5 white mini-orchids
12 bouts altogether
20 centerpieces - 2 dozen white or ivory roses and 5 Peach Asiatic Roses.

We're paying $4400, but are getting A LOT!

My Bouquet (roses, hydrangeas, mini callas; stephanotis)
8 girls (like mine but w/o callas and steph.)
8 guys (mini callas for fh and bm; rose for guys)
4 large altar arrangements (hydrangeas and roses)
kissing ball of roses for flower girl
3 moms (roses)
2 readers
~5 other rose bouts.
15 floating gardenias for cocktails
15 tall centerpieces with 4 doz. roses in each
roses for cake
petals to throw
10 double faced satin pew bows
1 dozen roses in bathrooms (fh's idea - go figure!)

With tax, we're just over $4000.

Here's my breakdown:
-1 Bridal bouquet - Large, round, hand tied, 50-60
roses
-1 MOH bouquet - Same style, 30 roses
-5 BMs bouquets - Same style, 25 roses
-1 JR BM bouquet - Same style, smaller
-9 Boutonnieres - Single rose bud on green rose leaf
-4 Mother & Grandmother corsages - Double roses
-1 Throw-away bouquet
-2 Altar Arrangements - Rustic urn with large arrangement of hydrangea, mixed colors
-10 Pew Bows
-6 Cocktail Hour bowls filled w/Hydrangea
-16 Centerpieces - Silver revere bowls, with green hydrangea, roses and trailing seeds - 6 votive candles and scattered rose petals
-Bed of Rose Petals for the dais to hold BMs' bouquets
-2 Fireplaces decorated with 3 Pillar Candles, greenery and clusters of hydrangea & roses
-4 bowls with floating roses for ladies rooms
-Rose Petals for cake table

A mini bride is just a very-mini version of me. No real purpose except to be cute. Most Brides just basically use a flower girl for this purpose. I, of course, have to go overboard as I am with everything in this wedding. I am now having 3 FGs, plus a mini-bride (my Goddaughter - who will be 6 at the time) She will have a dress similar to mine, and a mini bo-k like mine. She will walk with the ringbearer right after the FGs walk down w/rose petals, and before my main entrance.
She will look absolutely ADORABLE !!!!!!!

What a great idea!

We have two young ladies on our family. My baby sister who will be 12 at the time of wedding, and his neice who will be 8. Also a young man (his nephew) who will be 5-6ish.

I was *thinking* that he would be ring bearer, the neice would be flower girl, and I would have my sister as a junior bridesmaid. Does this make sense?

I know this thread is not about this... should I post a new thread? (It just came to me to ask LOL)

I only plan on having one maid of honor and MAYBE a bridesmaid or two, not sure yet really. So, would having my sister and the maid of honor alone be wierd? or maybe I make them both maid of honor, even though she so young? ug, too many decisions and we dont even have a date set yet!

For a little less than $900:

Chuppah - all roses, with pinecones and greens

1 bridal bouquet - round with roses, stephanotis, freesia and pinecones

7 bm bouquets - 3 hantied callalillies (my girls are in black and white, so I wanted something simple, yet elegant)

2 MOH bouquets - 5 handtied callalillies

2 mom nosegays - roses

1 stepmom corsage - roses

11 boutenierres - groomsmen and others roses, FH rose and stephanotis

1 throw away

1 crown of flowers for a ceremony

6 pew bows

We didn't need centerpieces, because they are included in our hall price.

I'm using Burton's - I went to them because I heard they had reasonable prices, and that was soooo true!! Also, centerpieces add so much to the price, so without them, we saved a lot!!
