flower questions

I'm going to meet with a florist this weekend and had a few questions.

What is the name of the bouquet that some have used for flower girls--i think it's on a ribbon and is like a ball. I think it's pretty but don't want to sound weird trying to explain it to a florist/professional!

Also--for anyone that is using rose petals on the table around the centerpiece--how did you know how much you needed?

thanks!

Re: flower questions

my florist is taking care of it... he showed me some pics of how many he will be adding- it's basically going to be ' a bed' of roses under the c-piece.

Re: flower questions

gee empire state... same photographer, same hall- what florist are you visiting?

what type of c-p are you thinking of? I'm planning on rose candelabras- either all black magic or all cream. I am worried that all cream will get lost in the room.

my florist is putting rose petals on the table with pillar candels on top.... the flower part is my favorite!

Re: flower questions

i'm going to meet with Burtons this weekend. My FMIL is doing the centerpieces. they will look something like this but they need more so i'm hoping to put rose pedals on the table and either floating candles next to it or floating flowers.

My flowers and the girls as well as the sweetheart table will all be real flowers.

It is called a pomander. Definition found online: A round ball covered in flowers and often with an attached ribbon. Can be carried by flower girls. A variation is a sweet-smelling object such as an orange covered in cloves.

Re: flower questions

I am not sure what the ball thing is called-- you can probably look on Martha's site and find that out..

As for the scattering of rose petals-- I think so many people do this, your florist knows exactly how much you need. They'll probably charge you something like 75 to 100 bucks each for cake decoration, horduerve trays and for the bottom of your CPs

Re: flower questions

The ball things are called Kissing Balls. I ordered them for my jr bms. As for the rose petals just tell them what you need them for and they will give you that amount.
