Flower quote (is this a good price?)

Hi Ladies...

Met with a florist I LOVED (Flowers by Matthew in Wantagh). I am on a small budget and wondering if this is a good price... loved the lady i met with, she totally got the vision of what I wanted and would like to book with her if it's the average price of what's out there... I think it might be, just wanted to run it by you all...

She quoted me just about 1K for:

My bo-k
4 BM bo-k's
1 boutennaire for FH
4 boutennaire for GM
2 Dad's and 1 grandpa (boutannaires)
1 nosegay (small bo-k) for Mom
1 nice corsage for FH's aunt (no mother of the groom :(
1 small bo-k for FG
Numerous corsages (about 8) for readers, musicians, etc.
2 large baskets for church and reception hall
1 bo-k for me to toss
1 vase of flowers for Mary's altar at church
2 roses to present to Mom and FH's aunt at Mass

the flowers are roses, orchids, stock, greenery (I am not a botanist, so I am forgetting the technical names..heh-heh). I also cannot spell boutannaire....

Let me know what you think ladies.... again, loved the florist, totally got what I wanted (natural, loose look) and even sent me home with the flowers we played with...

just need to know if I am getting a good price. walked into a shop and this guy was like for a BP of 8 you should get everything for $500???? i didn't think so...

Karen, I think our 'personal flowers' (bo-ks, etc. minus centerpieces) came to about 700ish.... i can check... i'd just look at another place and see what they have to offer.... can't hurt, can only save you $ if you find it cheaper elsewhere :)

what are you gonna do for CPs?

We are on a MAJOR flower budget, like you, and We definately did not want to pay a lot for flowers. We are only doing personal flowers, no centerpieces.

We are getting the following for just over $600, so in my opinion, if you are on a budget, you can definately do better than the price you got quoted:

1x My bok (3 doz roses and stephanoitis)
1 x tossing bok (their choice of flowers)
1 x MOH bok (2 1/2 doz roses)
5 x BM bok's (2 doz roses)
3 x Corsages for moms and grandma
1x FH bout (rose and stephanoitis)
7x GM bouts (rose)
1 X Father bout (rose)
1 x Grandpa bout (rose)
2 giant bags of rose petals for ceremony, cocktail tables and various reception details

We are using National Floral (800RoseBig) and they are in Bellmore on Merrick Road. FM me if you would like more info.

Hall provides the centerpieces.... so I am not worrying about those... I'd rather spend the money on something else...

I think it is kind of high for just the personal flowers too...

Also... I don't know what you are using the stock for... but it doesn't hold up that well if it is hot out... especially if thier are no tubes on the bottom... just an FYI.

1 corsage for grandma (2 lavendar orchids)
1 basket of petals for FG
1 bo-k for me to toss
