what was your favorite part of Flowerfields? Where did you like to take pictures, and what food did you like the best?

We recently had our tasting...

OH... MY... GOD!!!!!!!

I mean, I knew the place had good food before but JESUS! We did not leave ONE SCRAP on the plates-- It was me, my Mom and Dad, Vin and his Mom (his Father had to work)... So, we all shared all the different things they brought out.

Well, one thing was better than the last...

We LOVED the mushroom crepe for the appetizer in a wild something or other glaze-- omg!!!!! And I'm not even a mushroom person but holy cow! Then, we had the stuffed porkchop- and it can be stuffed two ways- one way is more italian w/ broccoli rabe and the other is more 'traditional'...

Either way was GREAT and the presentation of it was SO impressive that I chose to have that OVER a chicken dish on our menu!! That is how much it blew me away...

Then, the filet was just delicious and lastly we chose a shrimp and lobster crepe as our main fish meal-- OMG OMG OMG it was so good my mouth waters just thinking about it.

Then, we chose the dessert cart over a plate for each person b/c it's so impressive and they offer SO many desserts!! My friend went to a wedding at FF and thought that cart was something the bride paid extra for- but it's included!

We were completely blown away but the entire tasting and every LAST thing we ate. The CH food is just as unbelievable- the baby lampchops and the duck pastries are my FAVES!

I actually said to our BM how do you guys afford to have a full on tasting for every bride and FIVE of her friends and/or family members??? I mean, the food is so quality it's like restaurant food-- AND they give you unlimited to drink- anything you want! I couldn't believe it.

She said that they tried to suggest to all the BM's to 'do away' with the tastings b/c of the amount of money that it costs them to do it but the BM's refused-- saying that the brides and grooms LOVE it, deserve it and that it makes a huge difference in how hard it is to pick a menu. So, the owners said OK and decided to keep the tastings.

I mean, I was so worried about doing my menu but once I was able to taste everything- first, I could have chosen ANYTHING b/c everything was good but second, it made it so much easier and we had our menu done in minutes!

hope that helps

I think it's beautiful there. We looked at it for our wedding. The only issue was that they had changed the pond water earlier in the day and it overwhelmingly smelled like mildew. The girl told us that they didn't have their air filters on either. I can not imagine they would ever be changing pond water on the day of anyone's wedding and I'm sure they would have on the air filters no matter what. Other than that, the place is beautiful and Loven Oven food is always good.

Thank you so much for answering all my q's on ff. Being in a different state and not knowing much from the place except seeing pictures and looking at it in the winter, I had many doubts. You definitely resolved some of them. I actually feel better about the place. Now I just have to get everything else in order!!!

We went to a wedding at Lands End and I had the lobster & shrimp stuffed crepe. It was outrageous. By far, the best food I've had at a wedding. The shrimp and lobster chunks were enormous. Good choice!

I don't know what the salad was, but I think it had apples in it. It was awesome.

Did anyone ever have a bad experience at Flowerfields (as a guest or a bride) ? I have heard nothing but raves about the place, but I want to know it all!

I hate to put a damper on all the wonderful things that everyone said, but I had a negative experience at FF. I visited FF as a possibility for my wedding and I really love it! It is gorgeous and I am hoping to be able to work something out.

However, the banquet manager who 'helped' us was no help! She really rushed us, got up to leave while we were asking questions, and I am still unclear about the pricing. I would be bringing in a kosher caterer, so perhaps she was not so interested in our business. Other than that, I cannot imagine why she behaved this way!

But I am probably going to ask for a new BM and hopefully be able to work something out. I really love it there.

Re: flowerfields

I've attended 2 weddings at Flowerfields in the past 2 years.

The first one being in June of 2005 and I just loved the place and can't think of one bad thing.

The second wedding being May of this year and it was amazing. The only complaint I have is the table numbers on teh tables in teh frames were set too low and we could not find our table other than that everything was great.

Re: flowerfields

If you dont mind me asking, who was your banquet manager? I cant help but have felt rushed too by them in certain situations. I am an out of town bride, and had many questions when I actually got to meet with them. They seemed bothered that I had so many Q's and would be asking certain things to make sure they do not happen on the day of the wedding. I am sorry you had such an experience. Is it better since you changed managers? I love the honestly, so keep it coming.

Hello date twin! I can't believe it is here in almost 2 months!!!! Yeah for us!
So what do you have left to do?
I still have to do favors, and find a steel band.
Of course some DIY's, and gifts too.

Didn't stop me I still booked there...it was back in the tent days and alot has changed since then...

he's the only one though...but i do agree about the smell...but hopefully the food will overpower it!
