Flowers

I want to have calla lillies for my bouquet but I am so trying to stay away from roses. I don't have a theme going except for the color red and my wedding is in early March 2004. Any ideas on other flowers besides roses? I was thinking of having the girls with red and white flowers but don't know of what. The centerpieces would have the same flower and color. Thanks for your input.

Tulips and mums will be in season and some other early spring flowers...

You could have some Gerbera Daisys. They come in all different colors. Also if your BM Dresses are red you don't want too much red in the bouquets because you wont see it -- use some complimentary colors to red. I had red BM dresses we used lost of burnt orange/yellow colors, a little bit of red too.

I kind of like the red and white flower thing for some reason. I also want to carry that throughout the wedding. I just looked at some pictures of a mag and it looked pretty.
Does it really look to much to have the girls in red and some of their flowers the same color?

Roses?

Just curious why you are trying to stay away from roses...expensive?
I like red as well for my spring wedding and havent really thought of much on flowers yet but I like roses is that bad?

Roses?

Roses are not bad at all. I like them but I want to have something different especially since my wedding is in the spring. I just don't know what other flowers I can use. My FH mentioned a flower to me but I don't remember what it is. He actually knows more about flowers than I do-ha! I thought tulips but my mom says that it wouldn't look right. I am just looking for flowers that are in red and white but I keep going back to roses :-(. I am set on calla lillies for myself but the girls and the decorations I am unsure of.
Are roses more expensive than others?

tulips

Why not tulips I think they are very springy, i was thinking about them as well, Im not sure about roses being more expensive they are all year round but Ill post in the vendor section and find out for you

tulips-Thank You!!

I completely agree w/ tarakinspa & 2003wedding. I love tulips too. I guess once I speak with a florist they can give me more ideas. I saw the cover of new york bride (I think?) and the bride has calla lillies in purple. Are these natural colors or sprayed? I could maybe use those instead of tulips. Anyone know how expensive are calla lilllies?

BTW Cira thank you....

I browsed through the Martha Stewart mag and it had exactly what I was looking for. Lots of flowers to choose from! I am picking it up tonight.
