So I've booked my venue, dj and photographer. I figure my fav part is coming up, FLOWERS! There are SO many different florists I don't know where to begin. Can any of you ladies offer any suggestions of where you felt you had great customer service and someone who really respected your budget and so forth? I've heard amazing things about Burtons and am thinking of going to Pedestals because I fell in love with Christopher at a bridal show. Thanks!!

Towers Flowers in Nesconset!! Brigette is amazing. She created my bouquet, bm bouquets, centerpieces at the first appointment, and she stayed well within my tiny budget. Love her!

I met with three florists: Flowers By Brian--they were great, and really seemed to get the look and vibe I was going for. They seemed very knowledgeable, and were able to pull some different flowers so I could see shades and whatnot. They're prices were reasonable, I thought, and the girl I met with was great about getting back to my emails very quickly.
Distinctive Floral--they were the most expensive of the florists I met with. Maybe it was because there were a lot of appointments the day I was there, but I felt like they weren't that invested in my ideas. The consultant kept assuming what I would want or need without asking, and when I corrected her she had this attitude like 'Oh, really?' I know other brides have had great experiences with them, but I didn't care for them and wouldn't have felt comfortable with them doing my wedding.
B*urtons--their price was the best by far. Since they don't charge by flower, I was able to expand on my original ideas and add pricier flowers in without having to worry. They were very accomodating, and made some good suggestions I never even thought of. I ended up booking with them a couple of days after my meeting.
I've heard Pedestals does beautiful work, but I have no personal experiene with them. Good luck!

I am working with the Bayport Flower House. Joann was amazing to work with and she worked within our budget with ease. She has great design taste as well to help you complete your vision. Definitely worth checking out.

THIS! I met with Flowers by Brian and B*urtons. I loved both but booked with B*urton's for a few reasons. Like Lau1007 mentioned, you aren't charged by the type of flower used, but by the size (high, low, full, sparce). I made it known that I don't want roses for my wedding, which, because they are so popular, are usually ordered in bulk and are cheaper to use. Because I didn't want them, it was most likely I'd be spending more for my flowers but not a B*urton's. Also, John who we met with was so knowledgable about flowers and has been doing this for so long, he and my mom (a horticulture major in college) got along great and I'm certain between the two of them my wedding is going to be beautiful. Also, we only needed to put $50 down to hold our date. A month or two before my wedding I will go in to actually pick my flowers and see samples. That means I can change my mind a million times between now and then (which I'm sure I will) and spend time doing other things and not even think about flowers or bothering the florist until then. One more thing, they only do weddings, which means as John put it, 'we don't do funerals which means we don't get interupted.' It makes tons of sense. Funerals are not planned and can interupt a business like a florist. Sorry if that sounds callous but it's true. Every flower that is ordered is for your wedding alone. No, you're not going to get a beautiful warehouse of flower samples there. It's a small house and you sit at a small desk in front surrounded by silk flower bouquets. I'll admit, that freaked me out a bit but I think it's more for gauging size and shape. You walk through their work space to use the restroom and can have a peek at pieces and a quick conversation with the workers. Ultimately, I felt very comfortable with them and can't wait for next year. Good luck!
