I have been stressing out big time over the wedding flowers. I worked in a flower shop for many years and kept debating about whether I should do the flowers myself...to save some money, to have total control over the look, etc. But in the end, my mother talked me out of it. The stress of DOING everything the day before would have been incredible. So, I went to Wick's, which is where I worked throughout high school and for part of college. I love this place. Everyone there is so wonderful and nice. It's a wonderful little shop. If you don't know, Wick's Florist in Baldwin!!
So, Stephanie and I talked flowers. It was so exciting. The list includes:
Pink peonies Green hydrangea Orange roses Queen Anne's Lace Waxflower Flat head eucalyptus White lisianthus
The flowers at the reception will match the bouquets. And there will be pretty cylindrical vases on each table...
I am just so siked about my flowers now. And not having to stress out about doing them the day before is an even BIGGER joy!
One more thing checked right off that list. Love it!

Re: Flowers are settled!
Glad things worked out!! Glad your mom talked you out of doing your own flowers. Not that you wouldn't be able to do it, but you could do without the added stress! The flowers sound like a nice combination!!

Seriously, she has stayed out of it the planning as much as possible because she wanted it to be my wedding, and she didn't want to influence me. She has been there to answer questions, and help me, and let me cry, she just didn't want to sit there and say 'I like that, I don't like that' because we have just different tastes, etc. But she was so totally right when it came to this. It's not costing me much more than what I would have spent on the flowers myself, so to pay a little more for peace of mind, is fine in my book.
