Flowers By Burton

I am wondering if anyone has booked with them yet.. I have an appt on Friday.. I have heard very good things.. but I am not sure what to expect... we have a very tight budget for flowers.. (around $1,200) I am wondering if anyone has had any feedback for them.. and how the flowers look... that sort of thing.. I have about 7 months to go and I am starting to go a little crazy!! :-)

Flowers By Burton

Hi Tami! I booked with Flowers By Burton last week. I had first heard of Burtons on this site. Before I visited Burtons, I met with several other florists. During my appointment with Butons I looked through their books and I was very impressed with the variety of floral arrangements. At other florists, it seemed like they all had a certain style - Burtons seemed comfortable with a variety of styles. I went in with a definite idea of what I wanted. I met with Mike and he assisted me in better defining my flower ideas while working within my budget. I hope this helps answer your question!

Flowers By Burton

My FH and I have an appointment with them this Saturday and will let you know how it goes. We are having a big wedding and would like at least 22 tall centerpieces plus church, bridal party, etc. so we are really trying to find a good florist with a good deal (have to say my FH is being so helpful about the flowers which makes me really happy). So far we have been to Flowers By Brian, Pedestals, Simply Elegant, SPitz & Peck and James Cress. Flowers By Brian, Pedestals, Simply Elegant were all priced around the same with Simply Elegant being just alittle more. We feel more comfortable with Flowers BY Brian so far though. Personally, we were not impressed with SPitz & Peck for the amount of money they wanted and James Cress blew us out of the water with how expensive they were although to be fair I got the feeling that if we used them our flowers woudl be amazing. But, they wanted almost $2,000 (yes... $2,000) more than Flowers by Brian and that does not even include flowers for our table! Again, I will let you know how it goes as I do hear good things about Burton's on this board.

I am thinking about going to see them when I begin my flower search. Do you mind telling me what you got from them and how much? My budget for flowers is about $2k and I want to be able to have tall centerpieces. I'll need about 15. Is this possible with them? Thanks in advance! Vivian

I know everyone is really impressed with Burtons, but I truly believe that although there prices are low, you are really not getting that many flowers in the center pieces or bouquets, it is filled with a lot of greenery(sp). I booked Flower after Flower in Massapequa and they were really great. Her prices were resonable and I new exactly what I was getting. With Burtons, they say you get the assorted flowers.

Flowers By Burton-Prices and what you got for it!!!

Can everyone put the prices they were quoted for and what it included. I need around 25-30 centerpieces, bride bouq, 6 bridesmaid bouq, 10 bouts, mothers bouqs, throw-away bouq, flowers for the ceremony, rose petals for 2 flowergirls, and petals for throwing. Do you think its gonna cost me alot? Do you think i'm gonna be able to find a florist to give it to me for nomore than $5,000?

They did my sister's wedding and four friends, and everyone was completely thrilled. I have already gone to see them for 12/03.

Flowers By Burton-Prices and what you got for it!!!

Basically... 22 tall centerpieces with candles, 6 bridesmaid, 6 grooms, 2 dads, 2 moms, 1 bride bouquet, 1 throw away, flowers on our table and church - 2 big arrangements, small one for blessed mother and 8 pews with small bouquets and ribbon. Also flowers in restrooms - around $3,500 (not including tax) by Flowers by Brian, and Pedestals . Interestingly, Pedestals called me to ask if I had made my decision yet and that they could come down on their price... we were leaning towards Flowers BY Brian and have appointment with Burtons on Sat. but I am curious as to what price Pedestals will throw at us now. I don`t really now how to react to Pedestals calling me and telling me they could come down on the price.. do i like this sort of solicitation or not? Opinions please!!! FYI - James Cress wanted to charge us $5,300 (not including tax!) and that was only for 20 tables and didn`t even include flowers on my table which they consider to be an EXTRA! Does anyone else out their want to think that their table for you and your FH is considered an EXTRA! Hell no! We`re gonna be the spotlight of attention. Also their throwaway bouquet is made of silk (which is cheaper) and i didn`t like that. In order to get the same package as above we would have wound up paying about $5,800 - gulp - (no tax included)!!!! I was thinking about buying the freeze dried petals off the internet and stuffing them in cones myself to save money. Has anyone done or will do that? Let me know please!!!

Flowers By Burton-Prices and what you got for it!!!

I booked with Burtons for my June wedding b/c I needed just about the same amount of flowers and I was not willing to pay $5000 that Flowers by Brian and James Credt wanted. I am getting 20 Tall arrangements, 1 Bridal, 1 throw away, 6 bridesmaid, 7 or 8 coursages, 10 boutineers, 2 altar arrangements, 6 pew arrangements, 1 arrangment for my house and throw away rose petals for $2400. I thought that was a great deal for the money and Mike was great to work with. Good luck

Flowers By Burton-Prices and what you got for it!!!

I don`t understand why Flowers By Brian would charge you so much more then what they would charge me when I need more centerpieces than you! We're even doing some different flowers in them as well besides just roses (which is the cheapest flower for them) and they qouted me at $1500 less than you! I am so sick of all these wedding prices and be charged so many different prices. I wish it was policed somehow so that we knew we weren`t being ripped off but of course that`s impossible. James Cress was just as expensive for me as for you but what a difference with Flowers By Brian!
