flowers by burton

Ok, I hope I'm not misunderstanding anyone... but Flowers by Burton- every flower is one set price.... How much does he typically charge for a high centerpiece with 3 doz white roses, white stock, white dendrobium orchids ? Just curious looking for the best price.....

My original CP idea was 4 dozen roses, tall vase with orchids, ivy hanging and some queen anne's lace to lighten it up a bit, and the quote was $95. I've since changed my mind, and let them know to confirm that the policy is, as stated, any flower, same price . . . . I'll let you know.

I can say that I already asked about adding hydrangea, and the quote didn't change.

I asked and they told me it doesn't change. When I showed him my picture he was like, 'yeah we can do that and when you come in to your final meeting and if you want some things different or changed, just let me know- whatever kind of flower, as long as in season is the same price'.

Please keep the info coming! I am highly interested in meeting with Burton's. I haven't met with any florists yet and I am clueless where to begin. TIA!

LOL i'm the same way. No matter what any vendor tells me I feel like it's not true or like they're just gonna tell me that and forget it! But don't worry- I'm sure they will come through for us! Especially since they told both of us the same thing-- at least they're consistent!

He told me that they are about 100 a peice for the tall centerpieces...ANY flower, ANY amount... I was quoted waaay too much...almost 3000... I don't get since everyone else got such great quotes but me! Guess I got the wrong guy, b/c he wouldn't even go down at all!

Well I feel the same way... Im being quoted approx. 3000 dollars by various florists and honestly I really would rather try to save on flowers and splurge on somehting else that will last me like video.... I dunno this is so tough !!!!
But I really want flowers as centerpieces not really candles or anything else. I think I might check them out

I would honestly check them out because I am on such a tight budget but still wanted something that would be of quality and look classy and I did not have to budge on anything. The picture below is what I showed them and he said it would be no problem just to give anyone an idea who thinks that by using Burtons you'll have to put your vision aside- that's not the case so def. take the time to check them out because you could get a great deal.

Thank you so much for your help !! Did you tell them your budget beofre hand ?

Re: flowers by burton

I didn't only because I didn't want to say something and then have them up something or not add something that they usually would for someone else.. ya know? so i just told my FH before we walked in, 'OK we know that this is our budget and if he goes over it, then too bad we can't do it and we'll tell him' but we didn't have to. Honestly, I'd go in there, let them show you what they can do and then tell him exactly what you want- go in with a figure in your head that you feel comfortable with spending and then hear them out. If it's a little too high for you, then just be like listen this is my budget and I really want this, is there anything we can do?.... It seriously doesn't hurt to try and the guy that I met with was super nice- his name is John. Also- idk if this helps or not but they only require a $50 dollar deposit so you aren't gonna leave there with a hole in your pocket. I hope this helps!

I JUST went today to Burton's.

I forgot to have them itemize things for me so I was all confused so I called back. The lady (Bobbi) was very nice but only met with me for a whopping 10-15 minutes.

Here is what I got:

11 tables (low centerpieces) ($75/per table)
Decorating the Gazebo ($500)
6 BM, 7 Bouts. and 2 Corsages $580

TOTAL: $1900

What do you all think of that quote?

High CP's are more expensive, mine at Burton's are 95 each, but are quoted more by other florists . . . .

Re: flowers by burton

I know that they are pricey, so I asked if I chould change them all to low CPs and he said it's only a 15 dollar difference each.... So it wouldn't make a big diffference in price... I don't konw...no one talks about the guy I was stuck with... So...I think I may give them another whirl, but just not with that guy. He kept inturrpting me, and didn't want to see what I had in mind for my look. It was jst frustrating...
And he even told me that it's difficult to hold a cascading Boq... uhm...how hard can it be...? You're hold a sick rather then the acutal flowers... I don't know....that one guy just didn't make me feel comfortable... Don't really want to post his name, but Def. never heard his name mentioned....
