Flowers for No Occasion

Does anyone get these?

Once I told DH I like flowers for no occasion. He got them for me the next day and never again. Wouldn't it be sweet to go home to new flowers on the table and DH cooking?

Rob used to come home randomly with flowers once in a while - roses no less. Everytime he did, Robbie would have a bag of peanuts and would say 'We got you flowers at the peanut store'.

One day I had to pick Robbie up from my mother's house and I took a different route than usual. We got to the corner of Windsor and Sunrise and Robbie got really excited.

'LOOK! It's the PEANUT Store!'

I looked and it was a little deli. With a big sign that said 'Rose Riot - 1 doz Roses for 9.99!'

Now that Robbie doesn't go to my mom's house I no longer get random roses.

The man doesn't do that because I'm SOOO weird. I like strange flowers and that totally throws him off. Also, I never take care of them. I suck like that.

But you deserve just because flowers.

Such a cute story! Dude, nothing wrong with 9.99 flowers. Better than no flowers.

Just make sure he doesn't get confused and bring you the vaccuum...

I once fell in love with a not particularly attractive boy because he used to leave flowers in my car when I was at work - all different kinds - sunflowers, roses, carnations (okay, not so excited with the carnations, but he tried).

Point is, it works! They don't even know how easy it would be to get on our good sides!

Never- and I always tell him he should. Any gesture that means he wa sthinking of me would be nice. Starbucks would be excellent.
But no, never is my answer.

I don't like flowers, so this is a non issue for us. and not that I don't like them...but they are a 'gimmee' when it comes to doing something just b/c. it's in the guys manual for cryin' out loud.

I much prefer unexpected hugs, b/c the bomb is not always the most affectionate

or when he makes my tea and swears up and down that he cleans the kettle exactly 3 times beforehand to safisfy MY O.C.D.

or when he goes to get the car himself from the garage and warms up the chaiir for me while I wait at home.

or goes out to the store or to run an errand b/c he knows I don't want to be cold.

we women, in general, are the 'doers' the 'nurterers' and they are the hun ter gatherers. it's innate. it's natural.

and any time we step into one anothers shoes, it shows us something about each other.

on Fri night we stayed over at a friends house in Forest Hills. Sat morning the bomb offered to take the train home by himself to pick up the car and come back and get me so I could sleep longer.

I didn't let him do that...I just couldn't...but I'd take that over flowers any day.

I try to remind myself of these things, that are in the air, and are gone once they are completed, when I start to wonder where my flowers are...or where my lovenotes are...or why I have never been the recipient of a mixed tape.

although I'd still love the latter ( ), he sings me a new song every day. I just have to remember to listen.

I'm in the minority...DH always got me flowers from a local flower shop for no reason...then I go and ruined it...one day I gave him crap about how he should save his $$$$, he always gets me gerbers, and yada, yada, yada...fast foward many months and no flowers just because...here is me ------->...so I say hey why don't you ever get me flowers anymore...so he says well seems like you were not appreciative so I stopped. Now when he does I only say thank you and how my day just got better.

Why not purchase the flowers yourself and when he asks what the occassion is tell him you love flowers. I find with things I want my DH to do if I do them for myself sometimes he will surprise me.
