I have decided that I am not getting a head piece, but that I do want to wear flowers in my hair. I don't know anything about flowers! Who can recommend a flower that will stand up to July heat and last in my hair --pics outside at 4:30, ceremony outside at 6:30, cocktail hour outside til 8, then party til 12:00 -- I'm worried that flowers won't last. Any opinions?

Re: flowers for your hair
get a silk one!
Thats what I'd doing. I found a few people making them on etsy.com for less expensive than you can probably find for the quality.

I agree - a silk one would be the best option.

Silk. You can do real but why? nee elss thing to worry about if you do silk ones and if you go into a Micheals or AC Moore some of them look SO real.
My girls all wore silk gerbers in their hair and you couldnt tell the difference. Gerbers are fragile so I wanted to avoid them breaking up. I did them myself. Just bought the combs, sued some hot glue and flowers from the dollar store. SO easy.
I once bought fake stepanotis and wore that in my hair for a function.
There is an Etsy seller who makes beautiful hairpieces. Her name is myrakim. I wore one of her pieces in our day after photos-they are in my albums.
I know they have some that are really glittery and crazy, but towards the bottom of the page are regular ones. I was thinking about doing gardenias for my bridesmaids possibly. It was my grandmothers favorite flower. I just thought these were a cute option.

Re: flowers for your hair
i had two cymbidium orchids...these orchids are heartier flowers so they last throughout the day...
thank you ladies! The gerber daisies look so real! I never thought of silk ones! Stupid question -- what is etsy? Is that a brand? I'm thinking of using a bunch of small flowers rather than one large one, I'm having my hair half/half down, and want a few scattered. I'm on the fence bet real vs. silk still -- any other sturdy flowers?
