Flowers--My new stress

Flowers--My new stress

Oh my god. We just met with the first florist of the day. For what we are envisioning, we were quoted 4500. With delivery and set up it goes up to 5,000! We have 20 branch centerpieves with red maple leaves. 6 bouquets for girls, my bouquet, 3 corsages and 13 boutonnieres.
After meeting with the first florist we decided maybe to go to half flower centerpieces and half of the branch centerpieces.
Just out of curiosity, what is everyone's flower budget? I'm so stressed!! We have a second meeting in an hour and hopefully a lower price. We're going over our budget by more than 50%

Ro, who did you meet with?! I am a CHCC bride also and we have limited florists available. $5,000 seems insane!

Just went to Distinctive, loved Kelly and we were quoted $3500. I'm just a little nervous that our vision got lost somewhere. This is our first wedding planning dilemma!

Well your saving a lot of money!! Do you have any photo's you could bring them? I am sure you will have multiple meetings to make sure everything runs smoothly!

According to our BM, flowers are easily messed up in the process. I don't really agree but apparently they are able to get in touch with preferred vendors on the day of since they're usually closed on weekends. I'm not too happy with this but I guess the florists they chose were good. It's just making things so much more difficult!

ughhh!! Florists stink!! I'm not using a florist for my wedding, however, My FH's brother just got married at Woodbury CC and paid about $5l for exactly what you described! hope that brings you some comfort!!

according to a friend of mine who got married this past October, branch centerpieces are going to cost close to double what you'd pay for flowers. Which to me seems silly, bc they seem easier to get than flowers.

Also, if they know you HAVE to use them or one or two other vendors, they may try to jack up the prices. I'd go to an outside florist just to get a quote from someone else to compare it to if I was you.

I haven't met with florists yet, but I hope you have better luck with other vendors!!

Ugh. I'm seeing two florists this week after I saw one florist last week.

I'm dreading flowers. They're so NOT a concern for me because I just don't want a lot of flowers... so I'd like to keep my budget under like... $650. All I need is 5 BM BoK, a toss BoK, 3 boutonnieres, and 5 wrist corsages.

May I make a suggestion? If you're going to just do BP flowers, try Prestige Weddings. They have a location in Manhattan, and another one in Ozone Park, but they're very reasonably priced. I hired them as a wedding planner, and signed a contract for flowers, invitations, photo and video. I have all four of those for $4200. I'm doing my centerpieces on my own (simple tulips in a rectangle glass vase with either a ribbon tied around the vase or colored glass beads in the vase). www.pweddings.com if you'd like to view their site. Not the most impressive site, but they're really great. I'm the most skeptical person in the world, and I was blown away. FM me if you're interested in contacting them.

I had a feeling these specific centerpieces would be way more since they're so big..she said they're really labor intensive too. I'm going to incorporate them some how no matter what!
That's an awesome idea by the way, I think we might do that. Thanks!
