Ribbon? Bows? Just swirls or a design that matches your rings, gown or something?

I didn't have them on my cake. I don't think anyone cared. The cake was pretty by itself.
Just use your cake topper.

Re: Flowers on cakes.
There was a thread about this maybe 2 weeks ago? A few people posted pictures of their cakes without flowers. I am thinking maybe icing flowers. Not real ones though. I am going to look at books at the reception hall saturday.

you could also have a cake with writing going around, like your names.

What about having nothing put on the cake. Honestly, I like the flowers but not too many but I also like the look of a nice plain cake with a cake topper.

Re: Flowers on cakes.
I saw a GREAT cake for a wedding in CT - so you can steal this idea with out offending any LI Brides!
She had a beach theme - so there were white chocolate starfish and shells all over the cake - it looked so pretty - I should have taken a picture

Re: Flowers on cakes.
i see that you are getting married in the fall like we are..... we are having leaves on the wedding cake instead of flowers. well i guess its kind of the same thing lol but it looks so pretty, and goes w/ the fall theme so well.
