flying into hawaii...

does hawaii have only one big airport or can you fly into any island from here?

do you take a charter plane from island to island?

I think you can into a bunch of the islands like Kuai, Maui, Oahu and the Big Island. Then there are interisland flights.

From what I understand, and I may be wrong, Most flights from NY go to Oahu. I do know that there is a direct flight from CA to the Big Island though. PS- Continental flies direct from Newark to Oahu. I'm trying to get on that flight for my honeymoon. Travel time is only 9 1/2 hrs compared to like 14. Once you get there, there are interisland flights from island to island. Go to www.pleasantholidays.com for a good idea of itinerary and cost. Good Luck.

You can get flights into Maui and kaui not sure about the others but i am flying direct to kaui for my honeymoon.

I am flying into Maui for my honeymoon and taking interisland flights to Kuai and Oahu and then leaving straight from Kuai.

We are flying into Oahu from NY (LGA or JFK) doing an interisland flight to Kauai. Then flying out of Kauai to NY. I was told this may be a lot more. When I got an estimate for next yr, it was only about a $150 difference.
