So many posts of brides venting aboout FMIL, I thought I would say something nice about FMIL..... she offered to pay for the band and she said for FH and I to find a place we like for the RD, and that her and FH's father would pay.... she doesn't try to take over and never complains... Anyone else have something good to say about FMIL????!!!!!!

My FMIL is a sweetheart! She paid for me and FH to go to Puerto Rico in April for his cousins wedding! She said that she wants me to meet the entire family before my wedding.

I absolutely love my FILs, me & FMIL couldn't get along better if we tried. After reading some o f the post on LIW I realize how lucky I am, they are more than a girl can ask for

I'm extremely lucky as well, I get along so well with my FILs!
I comment all the time that I am totally blessed with the in-laws I am getting. They are incredible on so many levels, and not just because they are footing a big part of our wedding bill. They truly are a second set of parents to me and my FMIL is actually a real friend. I count my blessings everyday!

my FMIL is a sweet lady--very low maintenance. she keeps to herself and doesn't bother me at all! she isn't really a part of the wedding planning---but she's just not into that kind of stuff. but anything i would need, she's happy to assist!!

So glad you have a lovely FMIL.
I do as well... both of FH's parents offered to pay for our vendors however they never once forced to do or not do/have or not have. They said choose and tell us how much! We are blessed!
As far as FMIL as a person- she is sweet! SHe loves me like a daughter. She is very family oriented yet not intrusive!

I LOVE my FMIL. She was the best mom to my FH when he was growing up, now she is the best FMIL. She listens to me, we have great converations, and goes out of her way not to intrude. I love it!

My FMIL seems to have no care that her son is getting married. She did not even call to congratulate me BUT yet told me prior to the engagement that I am extremely good for her son and she is so happy I am a part of the fam. SHe even told FH that she will NOT be helping....
I am so angry she didnt even call. My parents are the EXACT opposite.
If FMIL offers help out of guilt I do not want nor will I accept her help...
