I'm sorry, that is absolutely horrible. We've been dealing with some similiar nonsense and all you two need to remember is its about you, no one else.
I could NOT agree more. and I am sorry you are dealing with something similar... :hugs:

I would have him talk to her, thats definitely important. He should tell her that it upsets him that she says those kinds of things and that he wants it to be a special day for her. maybe leave it as is for a little while and see if she comes around. If not, truthfully, she still should be invited and considered as coming. Just in case. Regardless let it be her decision on if she shows or not. DO NOT let her being a child affect your planning stages, you will regret it later for letting her annoy you~both of you!!!
WHen she says she wants nothing to do with it, just ok her and let it go. ITs tough but if she wants to be that way dont stoop to her level
I would love it if he could actually 'Talk' to her but shes one of the people that feels the need to SCREAM everything vs talk. He has done nothing but absorb guilt from this and she is trying to ruin the day.. BUT she wont. She can do as she wants but I want no part of her. YET i do stand by what ever decision he makes.
I need some wine now haha

Re: FMIL.....
FMIL!! I don't know why but it's almost as if FMIL are put on the earth to drives us crazy!!!
I know I'm a good person and raise well, but I just feel that FMIL just says things that drives me crazy. In the end, you just gotta put it aside and realize that the reason they 'act' this way is because they are 'insecure' and feel 'threatened' by you.
Knowing that makes me feel that it is a LITTLE more tolerable to deal with her...but in the end, it will get easier, she just needs to get used to the fact that if she continues to act 'spoiled' and 'unreasonable' that she will push you AND her son away. In the end her son is beginning a new life with YOU...she is trying to grasp at what she has now...
Anyhoo, hope she doesn't drive you too nuts, maybe give her 'busy tasks' so she stays out of your way, but doesn't really impact your wedding day...

wow I think I need some wine too At least you have a good head on to know what is going on. let her scream and yell and carry on~then be really nice and quiet and maybe 'maybe' she will realize she is nuts
