FMIL

FMIL

I am wondering how much and what you ladies have included your FMIL in on.
What I mean is do you take her to any of your appts with vendors, shopping for your dress etc...

Also how many of you ladies have not gone with your bridal party to try on the dress that you picked for them??

Having some issues....

Just wondering what you girls have done.....

I only included my MIL on seeing the sample centerpiece and looking at the Royalton Mansion after we booked it. Other than that, it was all me and my love.

Nothing Well my wedding is in Baltimore. I live in NY and so does FMIL, so really my mom is doing most. She hasn't really asked to be involved or offered anything, but maybe I should be the one to include her. I'm not using any NY vendors though, and I'm certainly not looking for my dress with her and not my mom.

I am thinking about including FMIL in dress shopping, picking out flowers, limos.... and maybe photography not sure. Im really close with her so that may just be why im all into having her involved in most of the planning.

The vendors I've picked them all out with my FH.... the bridesmaid dresses, I went with 2 girls of my bridal party. I did not include FMIL or my mom on picking out vendors and dresses.... I didn't want anyone to influence on what I WANTED! I've heard soooo many stories about mom or FMIL butting in and causing drama over things that the bride really wants and then she ends up changing it bc of the constant complaining..... The way I saw it was- it's my wedding and I'm going to pick things with my FH or I will pick them myself lol I did show my FMIL and mother everything such as dresses, flowers, limos, etc.

Re: FMIL

I brought FMIL to see mydress, and obviously the hall...we are picking our final menu on monday and she's coming to that with us. Im close with FMIL and I like to involve her. I guess it depends on your relationship with your FMIL...

FH and I have done pretty much all the vendors by ourselves. We did include parents when we were deciding on the hall. I plan on doing some shopping on my own for BM dresses and then bringing the girls to see once I have it narrowed down.

I'm sure I will ask FMILs opinion on things that will affect her and her guests, like the menu.

she wanted to pay for the flowers, so she came to the florist with me. Other than that... nothing. I live out of state, but I dont think I would have brought her dress shopping or anything really...

Re: FMIL

The only thing I do with my FMIL is when I would come home with the folders from the vendor I showed her them and what they would give...She really isnt that type of mom who would wanna be involved which makes me a little mad because my mom would wanna be invovled in the wedding even if my brother was the one getting married...

I included my FMIL in the , trying on the dress stuff, and that was about it. She has an only child (FH) and she will never experience this, so I let her come along. =D That was when she was nice to me lol

Little did I know.....

I didn't have my BP come along, b/c I have so many girls, and some have children, some live in different states, and some work on weekends, so I just went with my mom and my FMIL.

Are you having issues wth your FMIL? Does she want to go and you don't wnat her to?

FMIL wants to help out which I think is great. She came with me and FH look at our RH. She also wants to go dress shopping with me!

Re: FMIL

I had FMIL come with me to try on gowns because she doesn't hav any daughters, so she enjoys this stuff. Other than that I have gone shopping with her for her dress. That is really it. I do send her pics of cp that I like and bouq and she lets me know what she thinks about them.

Re: FMIL

I have included mine in pretty much nothing. She actually decided to move to North Carolina during all of this wedding preparation. Before she moved she came to Russos with us for the tasting and she embarrassed me and we argued a little. So after that I chose not to invite her anymore.. If you want an image picture everyone loves Raymond..... 'Marie'

I am very close to my FMIL & so is my mom. I'm actually including FMIL alot.. I keep her up to date on all our vendor meetings and when we book something. I give her all the websites. My mom also talks to her to keep her in the loop about my shower. Well all went dress shopping for my mom together. As someone else said, it all depends on your relationship with her, and what you feel comfortable.. I know mine is probably not the norm... lol

Re: FMIL

I included my MIL in almost everything because she loves the wedding planning process. My MIL came with me when I went dress shopping. She also came to all my fittings and was also there when I booked my florist.
I let my bridesmaids pick their own dresses. They all went by themselves because we live so far apart.
