Re: fmil dress issue (poll)

I'm having problems with my FMIL dress also. My wedding is ALL fall themed...fall colors, feather accents, etc. She went out and got a bright yellow dress. My colors are chambord w/ gold and ivory accents. Gr. My dress is 'bridal rum' color ...she is going to CLASH with me. yuck!! My mothers dress is mauve with burgandy beading....then this is the BM dress..then mine.

I feel your pain. But, honestly, what can you do about it?

Let's be honest... nobody will remember what either mother wore and whether or not they matched the color theme.

Aside from the bride - I honestly never remember what anyone else wears.

(One exception at my friend's wedding - her MIL wore - get this - a floor length white dress! - Now that I remembered!)

i compleltely agree with this. my mil wore eggplant and my girls wore sage. if anyone noticed, no one cared.

i see where you are frustrated though, i didn't see my mil's dress until about 2 weeks before the wedding. i was not crazy about it, but ut was to late to make an issue of it

Re: fmil dress issue (poll)

i would say something

that happened for my cousin's wedding and one of the moms switched her color

i think it is rude ( i know i am in the minority here, JMO)

even though we still have over a year left - my FMIL and mom have asked several times what the other is wearing. . . and would never ever wear the same color

to me - i think it is just traditional wedding etiquette. . .

She didn't even try it on??? That's odd! Dresses look totally different on the hanger than they do when you are wearing them!!!

How similar is the style of the dress since they are the same color with the same beading? If they are very similar, I'd definitely say something, but, if they are completely different, I'd let it go!

I'm usually the one to say don't worry about it and let people wear what makes them happy. BUT if it's the same color and beading, that's a little much. If she loved the style, she could have at least picked a different color from the swatches or something.
