How about some reverse psychology??

Tell her that even though she looked great in her daughter's wedding ( ) maybe she should try a different color for your wedding.

Just a thought!!! Good luck!

Im so sorry but in a sick twisted way I find this so funny!! Not haha but strange. A GROWN woman would wear cream to a wedding??!?!?!?!?! WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! For yourself and your mutual families' future brides - please set her straight!!

So, our bridal party is very small, and I'm letting BM and MOH pick their own outfits. My only limitation was 'black knee length skirt and an ivory top'.

Well MOH has no difficulties and purchased a dress on her own. BM first wanted to wear an all black dress with an ivory scarf (which I thought was sort of ok), but then switched it to a cream dress.

That's when I notified her that it's a faux pas for someone to wear all white to a wedding. She said 'but it's not white, it's CREAM', and I then told her 'so is my gown!'. She then understood.

I agree with the others, you and your family just have to be blunt and tell her directly that it is really not socially acceptable for another woman to be wearing anything remotely close to cream/ white to a wedding.....
