FMIL hates my invitaion choice....

After looking for hours at invitations, FH and I showed his mom our two choices. Her response, ' they aren't fancy enough. Don't stress over the invitations, you'll find something'..... I DID FIND SOMETHING!!!! Luckily FH backs me up. He said mom, christine likes the one's she picked out, and she wasn't stressed out until just now.... !!!

good job by the FH sticking up for you-- that was great and try not to let her bother you... (i know it's so hard)... i go through the same thing and it's a lot easier said than done to put it out of your mind but just keep telling yourself that you are happy with it and your FH's happy with the choice-- so it's the right one!!

I think they are both nice and beautiful but I would lean towards #2 with the different colors and such! But I would definitely hold your ground! I'm learning the same lesson...hang in there!!

They're both nice - I like them. Yah, sometimes asking opinions isn't good. I asked how they liked our AFTER they went out and I still was made to feel like crap - the comment was 'whats to say, they already went out'.

My general feeling is . . . who cares whether or not she likes your invitations - they are YOURS not hers. She had the opportunity to pick invites she liked when she got married, and if she didn't, it's not your fault she has no backbone!!!

BTW - I really like the second ones you posted.

I love the purple ones, they're beautiful! Don't let your fmil get you down! My fmil thinks our invites are 'not bad'... heehee... and she thinks I spent way too much time on it. Anyhoo.. that's why I didn't show her the invites until they were ready to be sent out.

I was just surprised to hear her response. She never had anything negative to say about our plans... I guess i was a little shocked. ...... Thanks ladies, I am leaning toward the purple one's!!

don't bet on it. I had a few unwanted comments from my MIL after I had some decisions already made everyone who commented on things like 'orange flowers for a wedding'?! ate their words when they saw how gorgeous things turned out for my FALL theme wedding!
