FMIL is an idiot!

So Monday I had a half a day at work. I was going to meet FMIL for lunch. Since she is a drunk (for real) I was picking her up and she knew this. So, I walk in to her apartment and when I walk into the white bright hall way with nothing in it I notice on the wall an invite to my bridal shower thumbtacked to the wall. WHAT? First, you know I am coming over and Second why would you hang it in the hall way. So now I know where and when it is. I am so mad at her. What an idiot. I am so upset b/c my mom and sister really went through a lot to make sure I did not find out since I thought I was going to my friends shower and it is really going to be mine ( b/c it matches the date and place for the invite I got for my friend). So upset

That's so messed up!!!

Reminds me of how my shower suprise was ruined......DH's cousin's wife had the invitation on her refrigerator (it wasn't the only thing on the refrigerator though) when she knew we were coming over. AND she didn't even come to my shower.

OMG that is terrible, since your mom and sister worked so hard.
I can't totally relate in every way with the FMIL situation.

How really important is to be surprise?

I'm a little confused, I didn't think a shower was all that important.

I personally asked not to have a shower because I rather get cash money at the wedding to cover bills and fund our summer house, instead of appliances/etc since we pretty much have what we need.

I don't want lingerie from my female relatives, that would be so weird if I open in in front of FMIL! She's ultra old school!

I dont care if it was a suprise or not its the fact that it was (since its in two weeks) and the fact that it was almost like she did it on perpose. She knows I dont know where and when it is. Its the fact that she would be so stupid to hang it up in a hallway. What? Who does that? I actually didnt want a suprise but my mom and sister wanted to suprise me which is fine. They have worked so hard to try to make it a suprise. Also I hear you on the opening the sexy clothes in front of people I dont want to scare anyone thinking of me in it since I am on the heavy side!
