Ok seriously, I am getting married in 45 days- tell me why the woman books an OPEN ENDED trip to Puerto Rico and leaves in 15 days- I just hung up the phone with her and told her that if she loves her son, she will call up right now & get a return date- because otherwise I am gonna annoy the shitake out of him till she lands in NY.
I love my fmil but sometimes I swear she just doesnt think! Like what if there is a hurricane and she cant get back or whatever!
rant over- thanks for listening

aww, i wouldn't worry too much. maybe she got the open ticket so that in case there is a hurricane, she has the option of leaving early, or waiting until it has passed to leave. even if she stayed there for 2 weeks, that's still another two weeks she'll be here before the wedding. does she have any pre-wedding tasks that she needs to take care of that havent' been done yet?

I agree... I wouldn't worry too much. Also maybe an open-ended ticket was cheaper

Re: FMIL is going to PR?!?!?!?!
has she ever gone away for more than 30 days at a time? unless there are things she has to do in reality you really dont need her here until the day before, that is when my mom is coming - my parents and sister are coming the night before (and hopefully make it in time for the rehearsal dinner ) dont worry - i dont think she is going to stay there for 44 days - even if she stays for 30 she will still be here 2 weeks before the wedding KWIM?
ets: didnt realize she is leaving in 15 days - which would mean 30 days left to your wedding - i still think it will be fine though - even if she stays for 25 days, you really only need her there for the wedding day - at least thats how i feel with my parents - but im used to not having them around

Re: FMIL is going to PR?!?!?!?!
She has a lot of family in PR and she has stayed as long as 2-3 months on some occasions and she isnt leaving for 2 weeks- so thats whats got me nervous.
she doesnt work, so other than our wedding there is nothing she has to run home for- I am just nervous she will wait until the last minute to come back for the wedding & a hurricane will get in the way

Re: FMIL is going to PR?!?!?!?!
Sounds like something my FMIL would do.. but she'd go to DR instead of PR!
Honestly, she probably wouldn't even imagine not being here for her son's wedding. I wouldn't worry at this point, but once the day gets closer, I'd have FH call her and say 'Get your arse home!'
