FMIL is Mad........

B/c FH decided to cut friends of his mother who he doesn't even know from the invite list.... She was insulted.... She decided to invite MORE friends than family and expected us just to deal with it...

So FH went to see her, and told her that we were cutting alot of her firends, and explains to her that WE are paying for the wedding, and can not afford to invite people we don't know.... He told her that they were more than welcome to go to the church to see the ceremony, but we just can't afford more people right now.... You know what his mother said!!!!!!! Well, that can't happen... These people WANT to go to the wedding b/c they like to EAT!!!!! Can you believe it!!!!! When FH told me that, I was even happier that we cut them from the list...

FH thinks she was mad b/c she told them they were invited to the wedding already..... A little nervey ????

I am sorry. I have MAJOR FMIL problems, so I can relate. Maybe if you put her friends on a 'b' list? Or tell her that you'll be more then happy to invite them if she would just pony up the dough!!

I also was wondering if you gave her an limit or did you tell her she could invite whomever?

I agree with having the B list. Or maybe you can tell her that she has to pay for her friends...that might make her trim her list a little bit.

So sorry she's still being a. . . PITA about this! Glad Dave said something! Have you offered to let he pay for them? I like the B list option . . . as you receive a no send out one of them. How many people are we talking about? Maybe Dave can explain the 'B' list option to her, after mentioning that she could pay for them! Good luck hun...

I completely understand. That is not fair! My mom also told a few friends of hers that they were invited before even running it by me. I cannat really complain bc she is giving us $ for it, but it is sooo annoying that people think they could do what they want with your wedding

I agree. I think that asking her to foot the bill for her extra guests wouldnt be out of line.

if YOU AND FH are paying for the wedding it's your decison, like us, we r paying, we have both sets of parents 40 people to invite and THAT'S IT, if they don'tlike it, TOO BAD.

I agree that if FMIL wants her friends thre (because they like to eat ) she should pay for them!

we are going through the same thing. for my shower my fmil is trying to invite people that are not invited to the wedding. and she is pissy that they were cut from the list.

my only advice, is to have fh deal with her. and she'll be mad for awhile but she'll get over it

i would probably just tell her that they are more than welcome to come IF she pays for them.
