After making a HUGE fuss about inviting a few of her friends to my shower, I just found out that she's not even friends with half of them!
They are the mother's of a few of FH's friends. And when I mentioned FMIL's guest list to one of FH's friends, he was shocked to hear the names of the people invited to my shower.
Explain the logic in that!!!

LOL. My FMIL insisted on inviting her holy roler church friends to our E party. Not only did they not RSVP, only one couple showed up. They ate and left. Never even said hi to me or FH and didn't even give us a card. You can bet your *** they're off the wedding invite list!!!

Same situation with my FMIL. It is my sister and mom who are planning (and paying) for the entire thing, and FMIL drove my sister NUTS dictating who was to be invited, insisting upon when the invites should go out, and even went so far as to tell my mother what weekend to throw it for me! (she wanted early Jan, my mother said no way because she, as well as all my friends, would be broke right after christmas).
And people wonder why I'm stressed, edgy and moody. I know what you're going through. Trust me.

The thing that ***** the most is that the Bride really isn't supposed to know anything about what's going on w/ the shower. It seems that I keep getting brought into it one way or another. It started to stress me out and I had to tell them that I didn't want to know anything anymore!

Why is it that the in-laws don't speak to these people EVER, but when it comes time to make the guestlist, they want these so-called 'friends' to be invited??? Where do they come up with these random people all of a sudden?

It gets worse: I have a hunch (I'm basing this on something one of FH's friends said - same one who I referenced above) that FMIL has told her friends that she is paying, WHICH SHE IS NOT!!!!!
