FMIL - isn't this weird?

she decided to 'surprise' me with a wedding band (ring). its not that i'm not grateful and its a pretty ring but it doesn't go with my ering and i had been looking forward to us choosing our bands together. I didn't get to choose my ering either

i'm just hoping i'll find something and be able to exchange it. ii want to wear them together on the same hand. i partly think they were trying to help him out by buying it and i'd never hurt their feelings. I'm glad i'm not alone though in thinking it was odd because FH made me feel like i should just be happy about it.

If your FMIL wanted to help pay for the ring, then she should have secretly given your FH the money. That would have been the appropriate thing to do.
