FMIL just reviewed 'the list'

So I have become a complete procrastinator everything wedding related recently. FH & I put “the list” together months ago & my parents kept asking me to have FMIL review her side of the family. I felt stupid asking her to look it over (she thinks I am looking for RH too early). As some of you may recall we work in the same office (she is kind of like my boss). So today she went out for lunch before I did so I left it on her desk with a note that said, “I know you think I am planning too early but can you please review the list?”
When I got back from lunch it was on my desk with a note that said, “even though you are planning too early you are still perfect for my son & the list is perfect too.”
Then she told me to remove her niece’s three kids which cause me to almost start jumping up & down. The RH that I love said kids would be $90 each. (I think that’s a lot of money for kids who don’t eat much.)

believe me i know how lucky i am. so also buys us food from the butcher every week & goes to the farmers market for me every wednesday.

FH tells her all the time that she is too nice to me. he is just jealous because my parents love him but not as much. to be fair i do alot for her especially since i started working at the office with her.

that really is sweet. it makes life so much easier when you get along with the FILs. That's great you are so close.

aww that was sweet of her for telling you that!!! I really don't think that you are too early to book an RH when i looked for a RH there were people booking for 2011 already!! so don't fee like you are too early. I really do think that the amount of money they are asking for children is too much so please consider that when making the list or something!!! good luck!!

i originally had 10 kids on my list.

3 are my brothers kids who are the flower girls & ring bearer.

4 are my mothers cousins kids.

3 are my FMIL nieces kids.

i have to have my brothers kids. my mom said she is willing to cut her cousins kids & hoped FMIL would do the same for her nieces kids. & she is willing to so everything worked out great

That's a sweet note she left you :) If my FMIL was 10% as nice as that I'd be a lot happier.

Lucky you don't have my FMIL!

She actually told us to take her sister off the list (my FH's aunt!) because she doesn't speak to her. And to not invite her kids... or almost anyone who still connects with her. I think it's absurd that my FH should not have all of his family there just because she chooses to not speak with them. It's his family too! Can't everyone shut up, smile & be happy for one day?

we originally had 12 kids, but I convinced my FH that we did not need to have all his cousin's kids at the wedding. FMIL thought if my jr bridesmaid and jr groomsman (who are my niece and nephew) were being invited, all the other kids could be invited. at least FFIL was smart enough to tell her no and that it's a waste of money to invite the kids

it is a big waste of money to invite kids. also i don't want people having to chase there kids around the entire evening.
luckily for me FMIL said she completely understands that i have to have my brothers kids. they are my nieces & nephews. plus FH is an only child so my nephew is really looking foward to be able to officially call him uncle that day.

thanks. i feel bad sometimes because i know alot of people are not as lucky as i am. however i do not have a living FFIL since he passed away in 2007. but i did get to spend 7 years knowing him & he was a great man as well.
