FMIL pressures...

So this is a little one but it still annoys me! FH and I are going to register tonight at target...not because we wanted to but because we are sick of hearing his mother tell us we need to register!

We didnt want to register for the engagement party...we wanted to wait for our shower in 2 YEARS....but she would have nothing of it...blah!
we dont even know what the heck to register for!

ugh! why can't she just leave you alone! so fustrating!

but i do love target! and I have heard registering is alot of fun! so try to look on the bright side and enjoy it!

1- you get a free $20 gift card when you do, that's why I did it early.
2- you can always get gifts at your e-party
You can always change things on the registry if you change your mind in the 2 yrs.

i totally understand... i didnt want to register either but my mother wouldnt shut the hell up about it...

so we registered... like 2 months ago... ask me how much stuff we've received off the registry? Yeah. You got it.. NOTHING.

but we HAVE updated it numerous times. :)

I guess theyre just trying to help in their own way....

Theres TONS of stuff to reg. at target for-even if you want to you could put those big plastic storage bins on your registry! I know you guys live together but ya never know, you might need them down the road for things like stuff from the wedding you want to hold. Or even winter or summer clothes. thats just one item you can get!!

We had the opposite...I wanted to register for the e-party because every e-party I have been to people always brought gifts and I wanted our guests to have the option. FMIL was so against it...she kept telling me how everyone on FH's side would give money...well that is great but what about friends or my family who might want to bring a gift.... Don't get me started. Future in laws offered to help pay for our e-party the 26th and now that the bulk of the payment is due they decide they need to re-do the kitchen floor... priorities!!!

I know... very frustrating...I feel like everything else is going smoothly and will go smoothly but she keeps pulling this 'i am the mother of the groom' thing... well ...I am the bride!

That sounded bridezilla-ish. lol

We are getting married in a small RH...only 119 people max. He has a huge family and we had to cut some of our friends in order to fit everyone.... she wanted us to invite her friend (who is loud, gets WASTED, and I would wind up kicking out by the end of the night) to the wedding...it took so much convincing and a lot of anxiety to get her to not invite her to the wedding...

I don't know why this sort of thing happens....what ever happened to making it at easiest as possible for the bride and groom...my parents are like tell me how much, when to be there and what to wear. So easy, I am so grateful for them!!!

yeah i dont know why some people are easy and some are not...my parents are somewhat easy going...we will see as we start booking more vendors

So we registered...it was fun. We just feel weird asking for gifts for our e party and really wanted to wait until the wedding. So we didnt put a lot of stuff on there really...and we are only registering at target...for the shower we will go all out though! lol

Funny u say this b/c I had never really look in BBB before until i went to buy stuff for my friends wedding...

I thought I was going to pass out when i saw all the different items they have... FH was like... 'uhh do i have to be with u when you do this' LOL

Haha brad loved it...he loved playing with the scanner and without my knowing, we ended up with nintendo Wii on our registry!
