Let me start by saying that I adore my FMIL to pieces and we're very close....
But today we were chatting on the phone and I mentioned that I wanted some of her wedding photos to display at the wedding and she said no I understand, because FH's died tragically when he was like 10, and bringing out those photos will upset her and maybe have some unwanted questions asked.
Oh well, not to worry, I have some other tricks up my sleeve to incorporate his father's memory into the wedding

if she said no then you might want to be careful about anything else you do considering her late husband. she obviously said no for a reason, so you should def respect that!

I agree. Don't make it uncomfortable for her. It's going to be hard enough. Or you can talk to FH and see what he says.

I agree. Talk to FH and test out any of the ideas you might have so as not to upset her. That is a difficult situation. Good luck though. It's really nice that you want to make sure to honor his memory on your special day!

She's fine with us incorporating his memory into the wedding, she just doesn't want us to use pictures.

I def agree. It may be extremely painful for her to deal with this. I am sure you will figure something out. But, you always want to keep things good with the FMIL.

Re: FMIL said No!!!!
so she wont let you use any pics?
My suggestion was going to be a pic of him on a chair in the church. I know some people have done that before. Did you mention that to her?
