Just as I have been sitting here for the last few days reading about other brides FMIL's and how horrible they can be I said to myself...'Self...maybe your FMIL isn't that bad, she hasn't bothered you in a good solid 2 weeks.' Well I spoke toooooo soon!
Here is the gist of the conversation she just had with FH...........
1. We are being cruel and insensitive to people with children because they aren't invited.
This is after she has been told, if you invite one person with children you have to invite them all and we don't want the kids to out number the adults. It is our choice and if our guests don't like it we will be more than happy to discuss it with them.
2. Why on Gods Green Earth would we have shot glasses as our favors?
This is again after we explained to her that the shot glasses can also be used as a votive holder if the guest isn't a drinker...98% of our guests will be breaking them out at the after party!
3. She found a pink dress that she really likes. Would it be that big of a deal if she wore pink? And what is so bad if she wore a black suit to the wedding?
To me yes it would be. My girls are wearing pale green and all the accents are a pale pink. Months agao I showed her my colors and explained to her that I really wished that the MOB or the MOG did not wear these colors. BLACK SUIT TO HER SONS WEDDING.........well I guess she made her point, she feels like she is going to a funeral.
I swear everytime we think these issues have been put to rest she brings them back up again. Sometimes I wish we didn't send out STDs and we could change the date so she wouldn't be there!!! Even FH is beside himself...he hung up on her.

why is it a big deal if anyone included MOB or MOG wears BP colors or reception colors?
I just never understood that.

IDK what my big thing about the color is, I just feel that they should be seperate from the BP. Not to mention...she'd look like the largest piece of cotton candy in a pale pink dress!!!!!!!!! I know that was uncalled for but I couldn't help myself.

Aww thank you!!! I'm just afraid that his family won't want to come because of her trash talkin. Oh well saves money and he'll know exactly the kind of woman she really is.

well she *****. She really is being insensitive to you and this is such a great and happy time for you. If at all possible, try not to pay her any mind. I know...easier said than done.....but really who cares what she says?? She doesn't like shot glasses......ok.....in one ear out the other. If she wants to look like a big old piece of cotton candy then that's her problem. Just go on with your day and forget it....it's just not worth it.

How about you tackle her as she walks in (she'll be the one who looks like an extra large serving of cotton candy) and then you put the dress on, bring safety pins, and you can dance the mother/son dance? It will be better for the pics!!!

omg my inlaws are rapeing us with rent and got pissed at us that we moved up the date and basically told us that they are going to give us less money cause we moved up the date yet they charge us 600 dollars to live in his bedroom not an apartment we share everything else u think instead of saying stupid **** they would just keep there mouths shut and maybe let us live here for free for a couple of months WOW i just went off on a tangent lol see mine suck too and dont let me get started on sister inlaws

This isnt the first that Im hearing of mothers wearing a black pants suit tot he wedding. I work with a lady who's son got married last year. Well,his mother in law wore a black pants suit...nothing even remotely (sp?) fancy about it.
Sorry about your problems with your FMIL. But there's a reason they call them 'in-laws'

OMG...that's right you have another FMIL that's for the birds!!! Sorry about her dress choice. I'm pretty sure when FH hung up on her she got the point about the dress...hopefully!
