FMIL Vent

Ok, so I had my bridal shower this weekend. It was awesome. My FMIL apparently got upset that she didn't have a coursage.

It turns out that my Mother bought me and my MOH a coursage, and asked her BFF to pick them up for her. My mom's friend thought she should have one too. This leaves my FMIL without one.

Well FMIL, who BTW didn't RSVP for the shower until 2 hours before it, made comments as to 'Well I'm only the Grooms Mother etc'. I had other guest telling me this aftwards and counting how many times she smiled. 4 in all, can you believe this!!! . They actually counted!!! My mom only put the coursage on to take a picture and out of respect for FMIL removed it for the rest of the day. (Ofcourse she didn't notice that)

I forgot to add this: The day after my Bridal Shower, we had to go shopping for FMIL's dress. My FFIL brought up the fact that she's was crying about not having a coursage. I put them in their place nicely ofcourse, when I really wanted to hit her. I explained that the B & G's Mom's weren't supposed to get one and that it should be for the day of the wedding.

i am so sorry you have a FMonsterIL - that is totally unfair to you - not even your idea to get the corsages! and to not RSVP until TWO hours before?! this woman needs to get her priorities straight!!

Oh God...how dramatic! You know what, your mom is MOTHER OF THE BRIDE and the shower is about the BRIDE. Get over it lady! I'm sure your mom did work for the shower. Did FMIL? Probably not if she couldn't have the courtesy to RSVP. I really wish your mom didn't take it off...your mom is too nice and obviously a class act. Don't let her get to you. Make sure your mom has better flowers at the wedding too.

Why do peoplegive $hit to the bride about what goes on at the shower My stepmother went to the 'meeting' about the shower and gave her 2 cents, but that was all she contributed financially. Once money was mentioned she bowed out, but got upset when she didn't get an invite, uhm hello, you were at the meeting!!!!!

I am sorry you have to deal with a person like this I hope all situations either get better or go away. Fortunatelyme stepmonster is moving to FL, sadly, she is taking my daddy with her!

I like that idea too! Sorry she's so nasty...one the situation was exlained, she seriously should have moved on & acted graciously (like your mother did). What is it with the FMIL's ruining our showers for us? Nasty FMILs suck
