FMIL vent

So my FMIL gets all needy and stuff I completly understand but seriously this is the message she left me on FB:

Kim, I am feeling very 'out of the loop' as far as your wedding goes. I hope you let me help you do SOMETHING!! Love ya, Mom

oh and on my FB status about my save the dates being ordered she wrote----- save the dates for what LOL

she really has been bothering me of late.

First of she lives in CT and all my vendors that I booked are down here on the island. She hardly wants to come down when my parents invite them over for dinner and teh holidays. She must think my mom comes to all my vendor appointments or something. Like what can I possible have do it took her a year to give me a list of names and addresses of who she wants to invite. The only appointment my mom went on wtih me is my dress and I wound up picking a dress right away. Ugh Im so fustrated.

ahh that is hard!!! but you know what just try to ignore those little comments as much as you can! some people like to talk and talk like they'll help but have offered to do anything. and like you said you've asked her to come down for dinner and holidays and that would be great time to find out how the wedding planning is going! lol its harder for them i think cause the FH arent doing the bulk of planning so when its the son i feel like they feel left out but thats the way it goes lol!! so dont stress yourself out...just try to ignore in situations possible and make the best of it!!

I know exactly especially when she mentions it now after I'm on my last vendor. The only thing left are the bm dresses and little odds and ends. She'll get her time to help plan a wedding if and when fsil gets married.

Re: FMIL vent

its crappy she is being that passive aggressive. If she isnt willing to help or support when you ask, she has no right to be like that. My FMIL has picked every single one of vendors and never asked me about any of them- THANK Goodness FH talked her out of booking any of them!! I have had to grow a VERY thick skin for her remarks and thats probably the best advice I can give! HTH

Oh man!! That is very annoying, the least she could do is call you and talk talk to you about it, instead of writing it on FB for everyone to see!
I would just try to ignore all the little comments (I know it's easier said than done), but it's better than causing any problems or tension. Maybe explain to her that there isn't much you need help with right now, but when time gets closer you will need her to help wrap favors or assemble programs or other DIY projects you may be planning.

Re: FMIL vent

you know, my ex-FMIL was crazy. like straight up she had mental problems and was an all around horrible person. i'm sure she will get hers via karma.
but she was the same way. she wanted to do everything with me after the fact and wouldn't let me get my way.

i was like, you have a daughter. when she gets married, knock yourself out. for now, its just me, and if need be, my mom.

that would probably bother me too......sometimes u just have to ignore it......my fsil (fh sister) gets on my nerves all the time, and sometimes I just blow up at her. She borrows my clothes and is just up my butt 24/7 bc we live upstairs from them

....she's always saying she's the little sister I never had, and my response always is I NEVER WANTED A LITTLE SISTER

Im sorry youre feeling that way ... I can only speak from my point of view but as problematic as she can be be grateful in some ways. My future hubbys mother passed away when he was only a small boy so I dont have a future mother in law to do anything with ... sometimes its so upsetting! Hang in there!
