When my FMIL asked if there was any special requirements for her dress, I told her.... no aqua, no brown and preferably floor length. She was good with that and found a dress that I have not seen yet in a celery green shade.

I do not think FMIL should match the girls and she should go with a different color... but at the same time.. pick your battles.. not everyone thinks about what they should and shouldnt do, but what they WANT! In the end it won't matter much anyway you are the BRIDE all eyes are on you! somewhere in her head she knows she shouldnt be matching the girls as do you and other people know it...

yeah this would annoy me but i probably wouldnt say anything...i mean doesnt she know that she is wearing the same color as the bridesmaids...i just dont why it is the same color

Can you tell I have issues with my fmil dress?

If she asks your permission, say no, since it's really not what you want. If she already bought the dress, it's not the end of the world.

Personally, this would annoy me. I mean with every possible color out there, why does she have to go with the same as the BM. I told my FMIL not to pick pink b/c that was the color my mom was wearing. She was okay with it and picked something else.

And if either of them wanted ivory, I would be livid. You girls must have some patience for letting that go!
