OMG - FMIL told me she was looking at a Champagne colored Strapless dress with a ball gown skirt!!!
Is it me, or does this sound bride-like? Of course it didn't hit me until AFTER I said 'just pick Whatever you Like' and hung up the phone!!!!!!!!!

if you make a deal of it, feelings will be hurt and the day of the wedding you'll hear her saying...oh thank you, but this dress was my second choice....not worth it

I wouldn't say a thing. Moms on either side can bug out for no (reasonable) reason when their child is getting married. Let her get whatever she wants. My Stepmom didn't get her dress till last minute, and the day of my wedding, my sister/MOH came running to tell me her dress was the same color as the BM! Oh, well. You know what - people thought my stepmom was weird, not me. I would keep the peace on this one, and save the battle for when she really loses her mind.
