We r finally getting around to taking this test the deacon told us we have to to start pre canna. We were under the impression that this was an online 'test' & no charge.....we just went to the web site given to us by st kilian church....there is an online course followed by a 2 hr follow up in Islip terrace on a weds in August??? Oh and it cost $50? I just don't want to do it if that's not right! I don't want to pay for something I don't have to and 7pm on a weds for 2 hrs is gonna be hard!!! I don't get off the train till 630 in Farmingdale!! I'm not sure if all churches are the same.....Any other st kilian brides that can help me? Any info would help!!! Thanks!!

Yes that's the website I had to go to....it said $50 and we had to pick a follow up meeting date....but a weds in as Aug was the only day they had....and no choice of location either. I should probably call my church but I figured I'd try here first. I am a little embarrassed....we booked the church in Nov or Dec but we r just getting around to this....

Don't be embarrassed you have a ton of time before your date. I didn't know about the follow up! The deacon we met with just said if we didn't do well on it we'd have to come back and talk to him. They make it so difficult!

Don't worry about failing! You and FH would have to be on very opposite pages to fail! The reason for the discussion is just to discuss any differences between your answer and your FH answers. So unless you both answer completely opposite on every question you should be good! Most of the questions were all things FH and I had already discussed anyway. Luckily our FOCCUS discussion and our PreCana is all happening in one weekend. Don't stress! I thought the questions were kind of fun (some of them funny to me) and it was fun talking to FH after about what he answered. Our PreCana isn't until Sept so I won't know exactly how our answers compared until then :(

OH and as for the fee.. It definitely depends on the church. PreCana through our church and through the Diocese both had the FOCCUS price as part of the fee/donation. I remember seeing the breakout and I think $50 seems right but I don't have it in front of me to confirm

FH and I had to do the same thing. We have our meeting in July and then have to do pre-cana right away cause we're getting married in October....wooops for really waiting on that.
Does anyone know if I can schedule my pre-cana even though I still haven't gone to the meeting yet?

So I called my church....it is $50 and there is a follow up meeting to go over your results. He couldn't tell me why I couldn't pick a different date and time....
