folding cardstock...

i am making my eparty invitations and i am using cardstock (they are coming out SO pretty!!) but i see when i go to fold it i get a crease..and not a cute one... am i using the wrong weight of paper? or is there a paper folder that i can purchase to avoid the crease?

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by a crease.....
Cardstock usually needs a slightly firmer hand when folding, more than just pinching between your fingers and sliding. Press it firmly on the table, that should flatten it out.

I asked my sister, who helped me do my direction cards:

To score the cards (that means avoiding the crease I suppose) I used a metal ruler and the dull side of an exacto knife...not the blade end (that would cut it). Then, to help fold I used the ruler..and just lifted up the card on one side.

HTH!

yep! this helps a lot!! i did it that way with one of my samples and it came out so much smoother than the other.. so 'scoring' the cards it is!!

next question.. where online can i order cardstock in specific colors? my samples look great and i'm gonna use those colors but i'd like to get them in bulk to avoid paying .60 a piece plus tax for them..

You may also want to consider getting a bone folder. It's essentially a flat instrument with one sharper end and one dull end. The sharper end can be used to score the paper but it's not sharp enough to pierce it. When the paper is folded, stand the bone folder on its side and drag it across the crease to make it cleaner. I got mine at Michael's for $7-$8.

You may not need one, since it sounds like you're already satisfied with the results of the Exact-o knife. I'd only go out and get it if you're worried about accidentally cutting yourself or the paper.
