Follow up to work drama...4 people got fired!!!!!! UPDATE!!!

I've been holding off on writing this because I wasn't over the anger I had about this. Just to recap for those who don't know...I had posted a couple of months ago about a situation at work with a Nurse who had violated the privacy of my boss along w/other people as well including me. I complained to the compliance office and they conducted an investigation. During their investigation they said they were unable to find her having been in my boss's personal medical file and I informed them they needed to look further back because this happened a few years ago...from what I was told. So...they did and in the process they claim they found my name in his file as well and I was shocked. I've NEVER been in his file and explained that to them and also informed them it would be pretty silly of me to come forward, tell them to look back further than they did to incriminate myself. At that time they said there were going to continue their investigation and inform me of the outcome.

On my wedding day...one of my coworkers who was also found in his file as well (and claimed she did it because a Doctor asked her to..but didn't tell the compliance office about it) sends me a text message as I'm driving to the hall that said 'I won't be coming to your wedding, because I got fired along with Roxanne (nurse), Norma and Amanda'. As you can imagine..I was FURIOUS! How dare her stoop to that level and try to ruin my day!!! I of course began to worry because my name was also involved and I was wondering if I was going to be fired or not..and still don't know. I won't know until tomorrow.

I am back at work today (first day back) and I hear that she called after she got fired and blames me for her being fired...mind you..someone else came forward BEFORE me to complain about this as well. It just goes to show you how immature people are and she deliberately set out to ruin my day because she wasn't woman enough to own up to what she did even though the doctor asked her to do it.

So...aside from all of that..I'm ok..but I HATE being here. If I get fired..so be it. I tried to do the right thing..and I'm glad the nurse got what she deserved...but I will not be held responsible for the others who got fired when they knew DAMN well what they did was UNPROFESSIONAL!

i'm glad to hear that she got was she deserved. and i hope you don't get fired... although, if you had done something wrong, why would you tell them to look further in the file??

i hope that this is just a 'weeding out' of bad people and karma.

OMG What right does she have for sending you messages like that trying to ruin YOUR day???? I had an issue like that with a hospital and I can't even imagine it happening where I work!

UG!! I HATE that stuff!! It’s so unfair when YOU get blamed for it and you had nothing to do with it – HER BEHAVIOR is what got her fired no matter WHO actually ‘told’ on her.

I had a coworker get fired because she was standing outside my boss' office with her ear to the door while I was in there with a 3rd co-worker who didn't get along with the one eavesdropping - so the eavesdropper got fired & blamed ME for 'telling on her' - I was IN the office - how would I know she was outside EAVESDROPPING?? With my x-ray vision??

Try to not think about it - like i said her behavior is the problem... and maybe your work enviornment will be better now that she's gone!

I hope the firing stops there... I'm assuming they would have gotten rid of everyone they felt the need to get rid all at once - so they obviously didn't feel the need to fire you, which is good since you don't deserve that!

And I'm sure they're not just waiting for your wedding to be over because they would have waited to fire EVERYONE at once then, ya know?

Maybe things will get better at your office now that they're gone?

Sorry to hear that. I don't understand why anyone would want to break that type of protocol and look into personal medical documents of co-works. I mean damn I don't even know what my file says about myself.

This nurse felt that she had the right/authority to do whatever she wanted..and to be honest with you I'm glad she got fired. She thought she was holier than though and was proven wrong. What she did was VERY VERY VERY wrong. She disclosed information about my boss to people for no reason other than satisfying her beliefs of what he was/wasn't.
