Thanks for the info on VIP..we are planning our wedding from San Francisco..and he called me back the other night and just from over the phone I got a good feeling about him and I liked his packages..were you impressed with his pictures..that is the only thing I have not seen..I checked out his website, but was not overly impressed. Could you tell me more about his work/photo albums you might have seen at his studio. And do you think John's work is comparable to Mark Kaufman's??? and one more question for you..who are you looking into for DJ's?? Thanks..

I found John comparable to Mark in the fact that he also has two photographers on your wedding day. He works with a woman named Cathy - he shoots the traditional, she does the candid work and from the samples I saw, she was on the same level if not better than Mark``s samples. His website doesn``t do him justice, he``s real easy going and was really willing to work with us. They don``t shoot as many pictures as Mark``s studio, but that was ok for me. 400 pictures will do me fine; 1000 is just too much. As far as DJ``s - that``s my next hill to climb. I``ll probably take three recommendations from this site and make some meetings. I``ll plan on doing that sometime in June. When are you coming home again???? I``ll be happy to give you some feedback if I do this before your next flight home!

thanks...we are flying back to LI the end of June for a week..but we are so busy that week with wedding planning, checking out our reception in person, meeting priest..family birthdays etc..i dont know how many vendors we will be able to hit but i hope to do a lot of research before we fly in. I called Laurie Studios today and they average only 250-300 proofs so 400 sounds about right on..with 1,000 proofs you probably wind up spenind a lot more money after the fact..that is crazy do you really need that many prof. photos on top of all the ones fam and friends will take..anyhow For DJ's so far I have stuff on Tommy Tunes, Invit. to Dance, Spin Around Sound, In the Mix..and just called Get in Tune today. Please keep me posted on any DJ's..that would be a huge help..who were you supposed to meet with and they canceled? Thanks..we'll keep in touch!!

We were supposted to meet with Dynamic Beat entertainment. He was a recommendation from a family friend. We showed up at his house and he wasn't there. After his sister was home and finally reached him, he said he was stuck in traffic. I really think he just forgot - his sister had no idea of who we were and why we were there. If he was gonna be late, that should have been his first call...any way as my fiance puts it there's two things you want a DJ to do, show up and play music. First impressions really are everything! Keep me posted and I'll do the same!

I just called Get In Tune..I just did not get the good vibe from this guy Glen over the phone..plus I asked him for a video..he was all I used to send out videos and people dont send them back. I have had a bunch of vendors send videos and they never askt hem to send them back..they just did not sound professional to me. but I could be wrong.

Yeah, he sounds like a schmuck!!! This is your day and you'll be paying plenty for it. One of our requirements for a DJ is that they NOT have a sign hanging off their equipment. Since we're are paying for them to be there, they shouldn't be advertising on my dime!!!
