Food Processor orrr Blender??

Hey Girls! Do I need both of these things or am I good with just one?? May I add I have a little food chopper that I absolutely love.

I guess you don't need both, and I believe cuisinart sells a combo with different blades.

The thing is, food processors have different blades to get different types of cuts. And I wouldn't want to pour a margarita our of a food processor.

I mean they're definitely used for different things, like my mom chops walnuts in the food processor and then ill make a frozen drink in the blender

I got the cuisinart duet which comes with attachments for both

They are used for pretty different things. I have a belnder (no food processor ) and there are certain things I can't do with the blender. The food processor is more for solids whereas the blender is more for liquids. If you don't think you'll need one then definitely don't register for it. They take up a decent amount of cabinet space

I have a 4 cup chopper and a blender. I dont think I need a huge food processor at this point in my life.

I think a lot of blenders have a food processing option?

Re: Food Processor orrr Blender??

My mother has spent the past 30 years without a food processor, and I highly doubt my grandmother who grew up on a farm every owned one. To this day, I've only used a food processor once, and that was at FMIL's house.

If I had to pick one, I'd go with the blender, but I also put the food processor/blender on my registry.

Thanks so much ladies!!! I think I'm going to be fine with out one for now. It takes up a lot of space and I already have that cuisinart food chopper its small but does the trick! There are a lot of other things I need way more then the food processor! You guys are awesome did I mention that!! This is the only place where you can have such a debate and not feel stupid !

Re: Food Processor orrr Blender??

I think it would depend on how much you cook or drink?? I don't really do dips and rough chops, but I drink more :) And I agree with not wanting to make a drink out of something garlic was smashed up in. So a blender would be the better options for me. So it depends on your personal lifestyle i guess.
