Food Tasting - Chateau Briand
I went to Chateau Briand's food tasting last night and I have seen a bunch of posts about being told they can not have one, etc. Well, you can, I went, and there was a bunch of people there. I figured I would give a review of how it went for any CB brides that are interested I know I love reading anything I can about the hall!
They had the food tasting in the Europa lounge with a piano player from bravura playing. They offered a bunch of things from the cold displays such as the fresh mozzarells with tomatoes, eggplant all julia, roasted peppers, homemade caponata, and cheese with italian meats. I thought everything really tasted very nice. My FH thought that some of the italian meats were not as flavorful as they could have been but overall I thought everything tasted nice.
The second course they offered us the two pasta choiced that you can pick from if you choose the appetizer duet - rigatoni alla vodka and penne filetto di pomodoro. Both I thought was really good I like alla vodka sauce better anyway so I most likely would pick that but the pomodoro sauce was also very tasty.
For the entrees they let us try what they said was the 3 most selected dishes, chateau briand, chicken alla vittoria, and norwegian salmon. They were all good my only concern is that the steak and chicken both have mushrooms in it so if you don't like mushrooms you have a problem. The salmon was cooked very well but I don't like the honey dijon sauce so we might pick the red snapper instead for our fish selection.
Finally, the deserts they brought out were AMAZING! lol We had creme brulee on little spoons, a chocolate cup with chocolate mousse inside, a little brownie with peanut creme on top, red velvet cake with a cream cheese frosting, and a chocolate covered strawberry! Everything was sooooo good but I didn't see any of those things on the menu that they gave me when I booked with them. They also had a chocolate fountain but FH and I were so full that we didn't eat anything from it.
Overall, it was really very nice and I love having any exuse to go see my hall so I was very excited! I toke some pictures of the food and they are in the album I labeled Chateau Briand if you want to actually look at the food.
