So I started training at the gym today and my trainer told me all the things I should be eating or avoiding, etc..... he said no carbs in the evening so for dinner I just had a salad w/ grilled chicken. It was horrible, I didn't enjoy it AT ALL! Before the gym today I was planning to get frozen yogurt this evening but he said to avoid that stuff at night I'm bordering on depressed right now from this crazy 'lifestyle change'... I just can't do it!

You Can do it...it will just take absolute persistence. Training your body and mind to 'enjoy' new flavors and textures is hard. But once you do...it becomes a habit and that's when the rewards start becoming so very visible. Stay Strong and focused....you'll look great, but more importantly, your energy and serotonin will rise. Good luck.

I think the bacon ranch salad at mcdonald's with grilled chicken is yummy..but don't add any dressing! That's what adds all of the calories...

Thanks for the encouragement!!
It's frustrating because I don't look bad now!! I don't need to lose weight, just tone up. The reason I am going to the gym is to look my absolute best but I know if I was to get married tomorrow I'd look fine! So I keep asking myself over and over if it's really worth it I'm so exhausted and I can so go for some frozen yogurt

Sorry for crashing...but nutrition is something im really into! You can do it! Why don't you try making smaller changes. Rather than doing a massive overhaul of your diet try changing one thing a week. So maybe this week, say no frozen yogurt at night time. Then next week say Im going to eat only brown carbs. Then the week after say no carbs at dinner time?
I follow a pretty high protein diet with only good carbs in the morning meals. I also eat 5 or 6 times a day. This is coming from a girl who only ate carbs! I hated meat. Ate mainly veggies, breads, you name it! But once I started making small changes and allowing myself to eat much more frequently, I have been able to let go of the sweets and foods that arent so good for me! Something that I use as my 'dessert' is fat free greek yogurt. It is so rich and creamy. I put some almonds in it with a little splenda and it does the job fo me. Its high in protein and low in sugar. I bet if you put some flavored ff/sf pudding in there it would be awesome! hope some of this helped!

Thanks for the advice! I heard of greek yogurt today for the first time! You're right about making small changes little by little. To be honest I'd rather take yogurt out of my diet at night NEXT week...... my craving is unstoppable tonight.
Thanks again though- your advice was helpful!

Youre welcome!! So take yogurt out next week and stop drinking soda this week (if you even do that) OR...say 'Im only going to have yogurt once a week!' and make it tonight don't deprive your body! Now that you are working out, you will need to eat and feed your body! Food is fuel!
