for all those honeymooning in disney...

Original post by AlmostMrsKelly

i read sporadic posts about different dinners and such that you girls are planning there. we are spending 6 nights in disney for the second half of our honeymoon. we already have the 3 day hopper pass, 2 day universal, and sea world. i also booked dinner at cinderella's castle. i also want to book a few more meals... what are the best suggestions, in your opinion? romantic? what websites are good to check these things out or book things? TIA ladies!

okay girls, thank you for all your suggestions so far... i checked out a lot of this stuff and now have a few more questions...

fulton's crab house looks good; its in downtown disney, right? do you suggest doing the whole downtown disney thing at the beginning or at the end of the trip (to pick up souvenirs that we didn't already get at the parks)? also, are reservations needed for fulton's?
the brown derby and the 50's primetime cafe both look good in mgm... again, reservations?
does anyone else have the hopper pass? or has had it? if we have a 3 day hopper pass, does that mean 3 consecutive days? or is it just 3 days altogether?
i know i could call my TA, but you girls seem to know so much!
i'm trying to figure out our itinerary and it's tough because FH just wants me to take care of it all, but he's a REALLY picky eater (he would hate the food at hoop de due review which makes me ) so i am trying to pick restuarants that we'll both like. i already booked cindarella's royal table for the wed nite we are there.
there's just so much to do! it's overwhelming. also, i can't find when the fireworks shows are when we'll be there... anyone know?
TIA!!!

1) Do Downtown Disney at anytime, it's a lot of fun, and you can have the souveniers shipped back to your hotel as long as you aren't checking out the next day.

2) Make reservations for anywhere that suggests them (see Dining on the Disney World website and it will tell you). I can tell you the three restaurants you mentioned you should definitely make reservations.

3) FH and I had a 5 day park hopper last time we went, but stayed for six. One day in the middle we didn't go to the parks, so you don't have to use them three consecutive days in a row, but they expire about 14 days from the first time it's scanned.

4) Honestly, I'm really picky too, and I found stuff to eat every restaurant we went to. If you can't do Hoop De Doo, check out the menus on allearsnet.com and see if he'll like the Hawaiian Luau or Mickey's Backyard BBQ.

5)There is always a fireworks show at EPCOT around 9 p.m., I think you have to check the Disney website or allearsnet to see when the others are. Fantasmic and Wishes are the two fireworks shows at MGM and Magic Kingdom.

Feel free to FM me if you have any questions!

Just a heads up for anyone who hasn't gotten their tickets yet, the prices just went up at the beginning of this month. I'm so mad at myself. I should have gotten my tickets earlier. Now I'll have to pay extra.

Here are some of my suggestions (Not going on honeymoon, but have been to orlando countless times! Twice with FH). I agree with everyone else, but here are some additions:

Epcot: China (Don't know the name of the restaurant but it is the only sit down restaurant in China - can't get on the site right now)

Islands of Adventure (Universal): Mythos Restaurant (In the Lost Continent)

Universal Studios: Beverly Hills Boulangerie - nice sandwiches

City Walk has a bunch of restaurants as well.

Sea World: Sharks Underwater Grill (Epcot has the same type of restaurant which I have heard is very good - mentioned in an above post. FH and I did not eat at the one in Epcot, but LOVED this one in Sea World!)

Re: for all those honeymooning in disney...

just went there in July for our HM...we loved every minute...some memorable meals...

Victoria and Alberts...IMO too expensive...it was an experience though.

Narcossees....OMG the best place we went to by far! we went there 2x.....food, atmosphere and service were all top notch!

Grand Floridian Cafe...in the Grand Floridian...we went there 3x....some lunch and some dinner. Food was excellent and you can go there in shorts but its so nice!

50'sPrime Time Cafe...went there 2x...once for lunch which was great and then for dinner which was gross! Would recommend for lunch and go early!

Tony's Town Square in Magic Kingdom...really good Italian food.

in Epcot the restaurant in Mexico thats in the pyramid....that was a great lunch! So much food!

We stayed for 12 days and were on the Disney Dining Plan...which was 100% worth it....1 snack, 1 sit down and 1 table service per person per day!

We generally ate lunch around 11:30 and then at dinner later and had a snack inbetween.

wow! Thanks for the info!

I'm so excited that you loved Narcoossee's! I switched my first night's dinner from Fulton's Crab House to Narcoossee's since it's in our hotel (the Grand Floridian) and we won't have to do so much running around, so now I feel better about that! Thanks!

Where did you stay? Did you do the Magical Express? Was it 'express?'

So happy you had a great time!!! I can't WAIT!
