My brother and sister have 2 iPods and share one iBook --- no problems here!

exactly ... and you can share one music library, just pick and choose what songs you want on your iPod. Both of my siblings have hooked up to my music library and have 'taken' my songs too - we share nicely!

I've been using a Mac for 15 years - I'll never go Windows again! (I'm stuck w/ one at work, too much of a headache.)

Yup!

You just can't take songs FROM the iPod and put it on another computer....unless you download a free iPod extractor... there's tons floating around in net. I've used Ollie's iPod extractor - its reliable!

OH! Also good to know since i have TONS of music on my old PC, BUT what i was thinking is that i could FIRST hook the ipods up to the old PC, make the playlists that i want to get the music and then hook it up to my mac for new stuff.....but i dont know if that will work...

Otherwise i have to BURN all the music OFF of the old computer and rip it on to the new,
