For anyone who HAD/WILL HAVE DJ photo screens..

Original post by Betty

My DJ now offers the photo screens and I was able to talk my FH into having them (YAY ). Originally, I wanted to have the BP walk in, THEN have the montage THEN FH and I would be intoduced. He is concerned that if BP is announced and everyone is hyped up, then we slow it down for the photos it will kill the mood. He has a point.QUESTION Is it better to have the montage BEFORE the BP is announced or is it OK to have it after the BP is announced but BEFORE we are announced? Anyone that has had it or will have it PLEASE HELP Thanks so much!!

My FH talked me into getting the video montage. Wouldn't you think it would be the other way around?? Me talking him into doing it. I gave in, We just have to start digging through pur pics and pic out the ones we like. We'll probably use the same pics in our video as well.

Hi Betty,

the bridal party walked out to pumping music something Dancejock suggested, then it stopped and my MC said something like Ladies and gentleman may I direct your attention to the screens.. I am proud to present The bride and groom the early years. Then we played 'In my life' by the beatles which is a slow song but worked perfectly. then there was 8 pics of me growing up 8 pics of Keith and 5 of us together with the last one being a still frame of us from a few minutes earlier.

Then he immediately changed the music to 'Heaven' and got the crowd pumped up and introduced us. The change in music did not effect the tone at all, it worked perfectly. Hope this helps!

I did a photo montage with Music by Michael - it was perfect and everything I hoped it would be! We had about 90 pictures, each of us growing up with various relatives/parents, about 10 of us together, and about 10 each of us with various friends in the past that were at the wedding. We all walked in/were introduced, had our first dance, etc. At this point, there was just a pic of us up on the screen. Once everybody sat for salad, the montage played. Everyone loved it, and we got to enjoy the looks on everyones faces, which was very special. Then, again, at various times of the night, he played it again. So, instead of being a slideshow presentation, it was just there for people to look at whenever they wanted. From what I read, DJ's are charinging a lot for these....Michael charges around $300 (this was about 8 months ago so not sure now), the screen is nice and big, and tall, and it can be front or rear projection, meaning that the 'projector' can be behind the screen and not visible. He does not offer the digital camera part of it, and we weren't interested in that either. He is also a first class DJ and we were very happy with him.
