Re: For Brides NOT having/had a Dais...
We are only having a sweetheart table. It seems most places are doing it this way.
Both sets of parents have a table. My MOH, her husband andd the BM (No date) are sitting at my Dad's table.
I've been to weddings where the bridal party is dispersed amongst the tables.

It will only be FH & myself...Our BP will be sitting at two tables off to the side from us!

We are sitting alone and the BP is going to be disbursed throughout the reception.

We're having a sweetheart table. I've seen it where the bridal party sits with the bride and groom, and really it is just not for me - everyone faces forward and I don't think it facilitates talking!
The Bridal party and dates will be at tables off to the side. The members of my Bridal Party are all friends and half of the BM are dating the groomsmen, so it works out really well

Our table was set for 6 - me, DH, BM & wife, MOH & BF. Even tho the table was really too small, we enjoyed having them with us

We had a 'raised love table for 2' (that's what they called it ) and our bridal party sat at one table to the left of us with their guests. It was nice

FI and I are having a sweetheart table and we are letting our BP sit with the people they know (My flight attendant friend will sit together with the other flight attendants she knows, his buddies from Cleveland will sit with the other friends from Cleveland, his brother will sit with his family, my sister will sit with our friends from home, my SIL and brother will sit with our mutual friends).
The only thing I disliked about being in friends' weddings was having to sit with people I didn't know while other people I knew were seated elsewhere. That is my reasoning for doing this.

Sorry! What I meant to say, is that the FI and I do not want to sit at a sweetheart table, and do not want a dias. We want to sit among one of the tables, but didn't know who to sit with. I know we won't be doing that much sitting anyway, but any feedback from couples that the same, would be helpful. Our Bridal Party will be dispersed among other tables with their families, spouses, dates, or friends they know.

Where do you sit the junior groomsmen and bridesmaids and ring bearers and flower girls?
Do they have to sit at the BP table?
My BM and GM are all close family and the juniors just wouldnt fit.. Im afraid theyd feel left out if the rest of the bridal party sat together but not them?
I heard the seating chart is the HARDEST :(

We didn't do this but I would say you should create a table with the people you want to sit with when you do your seating chart. I would include both sets of parents and maybe siblings, unless you don't want to sit with any BP.

Re: For Brides NOT having/had a Dais...or Sweetheart Table...
We had a small bridal party so they all sat with us. the 2 groomsmen & their girlfriends, my MOH & her husband, my single bridesmaid & my brother. There wer 10 of us at an oval table.
Friends of mine did smoething similar , with a alrger bridal party. They had The best man , MOH & MOh's husband, the bride's broiterh & sister in law ( who wer eint eh wedidgn & the grooms's sister ( also int eh wedidng ) with her date.
2 other friends /groomsmen sat at our table with their girlfriends & BM who was a family friend sat with her family.
It depends on who is in your BP. Start with BM/MOH & siblings & then anyone who would be difficult to sit any where else.
Or you could just do both sets of parents & siblings or grandparents if there are any.

not to be nosise, how come you dont want your own table? there will be so many things going on, having your own table will give you and your fi some alone time. picture wise, it would look different.
also to mention, you be sitting down much either.. so really, it doesnt matter where you sit. but i would give you some space and time alone.
i recall one moment just sitting alone at our dias and looking down on everybody enjoying the night, takeing random pictures of us and it was 1 of the best feelings even though we were just stareing at the crowd.

This was my dilemma too. I ended up with a Sweetheart table, but the other choice was sitting with our parents and our close family. I've seen that a few times too.

We sat with our BM and his wife and MOH and her husband. It was nice jsut the six of us. I would have really liked to have dinner with our parents, but DH's mom and dad are divorced and it just wasnt' feasible.

That's not everyone's thing though. I didn't want to be 'looking down' on anyone. I didn't want to be on display. They took pictures of us toasting close up, so you don't see the other people at the table.
We did sit & eat & talked to our bp & then between courses, we were able to socailize with everyone else. I think if we had a sweetheart table , we wouldn't have been able to eat, b/c I would have felt we were ignoring our guests.

We are having a head table and it will be my and hubby, MOH and her fiance, BM and his date, SIL and her date, and maybe one other couple. Not a fan of the sweetheart tables.
