FOR BRIDES WHO ARE NOT SEEING FH BEFORE WEDDING FOR PICS

FH and I have been adamant about not seeing each other before the wedding... but we've been to photogs who have time and time again lamented on how little time we're going to have for pics...Anyone just took pics during cocktail hour? How did it go... did you get nice enough pics.... how does it work for family ... can you get everyone together and get them into cocktail hour? Anyone felt like they missed out on their day? NEED ADVICE PLEASE.

We didn't want to see each other before the ceremony so we took our pictures during CH. Our photographer did come to my house a few hours before the church and he did all of my family pictures there which saved time later on. Even with only taking pics during the CH, I still have over 900 proofs and I don't feel like we missed any shots. We even got to go to the CH for about 15 minutes and I didn't really feel like I missed out too much. Hope this helps.

I think any photographer that is going to want you to take pictures before the ceromoney is not worth your time. Stand firm in your decision. There will be pleanty of time for pictures. YOu wont miss out anything either.

i regret not having pics before wedding... then again, my photog was late, so nothing would have come of it

We are not going to have much light at all...our ceremony is at 2:30 and we are having a full mass.

We are taking some pics inside the church, someplace else (prob in the dark) and at EW. THey shouldn't pressure you like that! Do what you want to do!! It is their job to take good pictures, no matter what light they have!

we didn't see each other until the ceremony and i'm so glad that's how we did it. the photographer came to the hotel to take pics of me with my girls and parents. then at the hall before i got there, he took pics of dh with the rest of the bridal party. we had enough time for the pics during the ch. we enjoyed the recption

We didn't see each other before the ceremony. I had the photog do me with the girls, DH w the girls before and then we did everything else after...also my ceremony ended at 3:30 and CH did start til 5:30 so there was plenty of time

We thought we had more than enought time in between but with travel and a delays along the way we ended missing our cocktail hour kind of by accident and it's pretty much the only dissapointment about our wedding day because after we greeted everyone during the reception it seems like we had so little time to just enjoy ourselves...but maybe the disappointment is because I had it in my mind the whole time that we'd be at the cocktail hour and then for reasons beyond out control we weren't...if it's not that important to you and not seeing each other before is then you'll be fine doing pics during that time...HTH

We will not be seeing each other before the church ceremony and we scheduled our church ceremony 4 1/2 hrs before our CH start time so that there would be plenty of time for pics and so that we could possibly attend a portion of our CH.

my fh and i are not seeing each other before. there wouldn't be enough time. but my friend who just got married did it all through the ch and they had plenty of time with all the family and everything. if you have a good photographer they will make it work....stick to what you want!

We didn't want to see each other before. We got married at the hall so there was no 'break' between ceremony & reception. We took all pics during cocktail hour and it worked out great. We got all the pictures we should have. I am not happy with how my photographer took them, and I wish he had taken MORE but it wasn’t a time issue. My DH and I took pics alone for about 20 minutes, then did the family shots & then even had about 10 minutes in the bridal suite before the reception started. I would not use a photographer who thought it was a 'bad idea' - I am SO GLAD we didn't see each other before. My DH has told me SO MANY TIMES, 'I will NEVER get the image of you walking up the aisle toward me out of my head. It gives me chills every time I think about it.' I know most couples do see each other before but I didn’t want that and would have been immediately put off by a photographer who thought that us seeing each other before was the only option.
