For Brides who have natural nails??

What do you do for your wedding if you don't have artificial nails? I'm concerned that if I get a manicure it will just get chipped before the wedding...

nope - doin a regular mani - just getting a light color and then not doing anything strenuous with my hands. I'm getting it done the night before, so I should be okay

I'm just getting my normal weekly manicure the night before and then not doing anything strenuous with my hands.

i went and got a french manicure the afternoon before my wedding. my nails held up for about 5 days.. just go easy on them, and get them done the day before.

my nails are in pretty good shape bc of the manicures, and ive always thought fake nails look too bulky on me, and then when they come off my nails take forever to get back to normal

I'm just going to file mine and paint them the day before. I won't go to a salon, I think it's skeevy and unsanitary, and I don't use fake nails so if I'm just getting polish, I'd rather it be my own. If my nails look bad for my wedding...oh well. I'm not too concerned over it, and I'll just tell my photog go easy on the fingertip shots lol.

I had my nails done the day before and they were fine. Don't worry, just don't do anything strenuous with your hands afterwards.

I am definitely going to have a normal manicure for my wedding, probably the day before. I don't like the way artificial nails look personally.

if you dont want artificial nails you can ask the nail salon to put the powder and glue that they use on acrylics or silk wraps on your reg nails - it wont change the length shape or look of your natural nail but it gives it the same effect of fakies in terms of having the polish not chip at all!!! I've done this for vacations and events where i really didnt wanna risk it (i screw my nails up with a reg mani within a day) and they held up perfectly and looked totally natural! You'll have to soak it off after, but it definitely still keeps the natural nail look. try it out!

I have natural nails and get french manicures every once in awhile, just put a coat of sally hansen top polish on - I've had them last for a over a week without chipping

sorry to intrude...I was planning on my reg manicure as well but they always chip in one day! this sounds like a good idea. does this damage your nails?

When I had mine taken off my nails were basically fine... a few did break so maybe it weekend them a little or it may be b/c my nails, from being wrapped and not cut, were longer and therefore were 'in the way'

I did a french manicure the night before and they were fine by wedding day, didn't chip at all. Didnt even start chipping until the end of the HM. Just make sure they use both a base coat and top coat. Mine are real but long too, well for wedding i cut them a little bit and they didnt break for a while either.

I am planning on going to the salon the day of and getting a mani/pedi. As long as I go easy on my regular weekly nail salon trip nails, they usually last at least 4-5 days without chipping. I am doing it the day of so that they still look shiny and just done. The silk wraps work well too...I had that done when one of my nails chipped and i needed them to fix it. I decided to just do the silk wrap and my nails were hard and didn't break for like two weeks and didn't begin to chip for a week! It's expensive but its worth it

i got a regular mani pedi and used essie sugar daddy, I did it the night before the wedding and just did an extra top coat the day of to prevent chipping.

i was afraid of that too b/c mine always chip! i got my fingers and toes done the afternoon before and they were fine for a few days. they started to chip on the HM, but i brought a clear polish with me to keep it together. as long as you don't do anything crazy with your hands you should be ok!
