Are you including your Brother in the Bridal party?
If he were my sister, that wouldn't even be an issue, but I just don't want to take over my FI's side of the BP. At the same time, of course, I don't want to exclude my brother either (he's 20).
He will walk down the aisle and be in pictures either way.
What is everyone doing?

Re: for Brides with Brothers
Yes, we are not having a bridal party, no ushers but my brother is dressing in a tux because mom is deceased and Dad needs assistance getting around. they will always be together that day so I wanted them to match.
FH's sisters aren't in wedding party but they are doing a reading and will have their own families there. My brother is single. Just an unusual situation.

Re: for Brides with Brothers
My brother is a groomsman.
This was an obviosu choice because my brother (really a brother in law) is also very close, like a brother to my FH/
Don't worry about 'taking over' it's your BP too, and don;t forget, your brother will soon be your FH's brother.

Re: for Brides with Brothers
My brother that's 21, is not on the FI's bridal party, so I'm including him by being an Usher. I think that if the FI has all his friends in his party, he's entitled to it. If there's room, the 'curteous' thing to do is include your brother(s.) My other brother that's 13, will be a Jr. Groomsman. Both are getting the same tuxes, are in the limo, sitting on the deis...so it's the same to me.

Re: for Brides with Brothers
We only have one attendant each but my brother will be an usher and escort my grandma down the aisle. I wasn't asked to be in his wedding(his wife wanted only friends) so we walked down the aisle with my dad. I see this as the same thing.

Re: for Brides with Brothers
My brother (my only sibling-34 yrs old) will be in the BP. As will my 4 yr old nephew (RB).
I am having FH's sister too, FH said 'Why?' to his sister, I said 'B/c YOU know your mom would expect it' Which is true.

Re: for Brides with Brothers
I have three brothers and a sister. My sister is in the BP but none of my brothers are. We found other ways to incorporate them. One is doing a reading, one is escorting my grandmother into both the ceremony and the reception and the other is escorting my mother into the reception. FH has a sister and a brother. His brother is his BM but hsi sister is not in the BP. Instead, her daughter is one of the FGs.
IMO you should not *make* your FH have anyone in his bridal party that he is not close to, just as you would not want that done to you.

My brother is in the wedding party...FH wanted him in ...I would not have pushed it if he didn't...the groomsmen (imo) should be left to the groom to choose...

Yes my brother is part of our bridal party. I couldn't see having my wedding without him included in my party.

Re: for Brides with Brothers
I have 2 sisters(one single, one married), one brother one sister in law and one brother in law on MY SIDE.
I have 2 FSIL's on FH's side. Both single.
NONE of them are in the BP. My siblings' children will represent the family. If I had my siblings and his and my friends, it would be a circus. to which I say NO THANKS!!! My sisters know their roles are important. They also have no interest in being a bridesmaid. They would much rather help me plan the day (in other words - they wanna know how much everything will cost)

Re: for Brides with Brothers
My older brother was a ‘reader’ he actually gave us our Apache Wedding Blessing during our ceremony.
My two younger twin brothers were in our BP.
I love my big bro. We are EXTRA close. I can’t imagine an event like my wedding without him a part of it somehow. If it wasn’t an Apache Wedding Blessing it would have been a poem, I don’t care. He didn’t want to be in the BP, tux expenses and so forth. But still he was happy to be a part of my wedding day. Big goofball!

Re: for Brides with Brothers
Of course my brother is in, and FI's sister is too. The point of a BP is to have the people you love to stand up for you. You don't have to have all girls and he doesn't have to have all guys.
