For Catholic Brides who are getting married soon....

when did your Church tell you about your rehersal??

We called our church and they said they would call us a couple of weeks before to let us know when it is. Is this the normal? How are we suppose to book a place for our dinner so close - shouldn't they know sooner then that???

Our priest said he couldnt tell us until 4-5 weeks before. I am going to call him about 6 weeks before.

We are going to book a place though and tell them that its possible the time might change a bit, but not the day. And then we gotta get the invites right out!

Wow....my priest told me 12 months before what time. Maybe ask them if there are certain times it generally takes place and explain the situation. Like for us we chose between 2 times.

When we went to register to get married at our church he told us the date right away.

And we did this months ago.

I just called yesterday to schedule my date. We scheduled it one week before. You should tell them that you need to make plans.

Well, I told my priest about my wedding about 18 months ago and we finally confirmed the date in the books when I came home for Christmas. He tentatively said the rhearsal will be for Friday evening around 7pm. So that's what I'm working with.

Re: For Catholic Brides who are getting married soon....

they just called us about 2 weeks ago to set it in stone.

also, with the RD, most places know that it will be within a certain time frame, rather than starting at a Specific time (like our RD place blocked the room starting at 7, but said to call and confirm after we speak to the church).. its not like they would be able to have another party RIGHT before that anyway, so its not a big deal.... check with your place

I wanted mine on Thursday, but they do choir rehearsal

So its Wednesday. I didnt want to be at the reheasal the night before the wedding, especially if I still had to attend to some little things. I wouldnt have enjoyed myself.
