I thank everyone for their input on my last post!!! I just got back from Macys (spent 21/2 hours) and the women were wonderful and the selection was huge!!!! I know they are a bit more expensive but I fell in love. In the whole expensive wedding scenario, do I spend $300 more than planned to buy a dress I love and not have to look anymore or do I keep looking and possibly not find one as nice????? So much pressure!!!

Re: $$$ for dresses
hi... its your wedding day... SPEND THE MONEY!!!!
i personally think there are three things where money should not be an issue concerning a wedding...
1. the photographer 2. the food
and three....
THE DRESS!
im editing this because i forgot something...
if you can find the EXACT same dress for cheaper, then obvi, buy the cheaper one... or if you find one that gives you the same exact feeling as this dress gave you (because only one dress will)... then get that one.

Re: $$$ for dresses
spend the money! if you are in love with a particular dress ..go for it..or in the long run you may regret it especially because it could be your dream dress!

Re: $$$ for dresses
Well if you can afford it then go for it. When we started this wedding planning I told FH there were 2 places I wouldn't cut from and that was photography and RH. So like I said, if you can do it, then go for it! You only do this once!

Re: $$$ for dresses
Based on your previuos post, it sounds like you just started looking at dresses with Macy's the first stop? It's terrific that you found something you love but I have seen loads of posts here of girls hurrying to buy and either having second thoughts if it was truly THE ONE or actually finding something they liked better. Seems like a lot of us are still tempted to look even after finding what we think we want! With that said, if you are sure you are not like that then pursue your dress but as other girls have said, if you can get the style number you may want to but it elsewhere, where you can get it within your budget. I'm not sure if RK bridal in the city would carry that designer, but you could check there as well as with Phylis (you need to search the site for her full name/contact info). Depending on the fit, if you need alterations you might want to find a place with a reasonable capped price for that which also does good work. Again check the boards for reviews.some are alot better than others. HTH

Re: $$$ for dresses
I think if you fall in love with it, go for it (within reason! lol) and in the grand scheme of the wedding, 300$ is totally reasonable!
