For future & past brides... At your ceremony...

For future & past brides... At your ceremony...

A question just came up among the girls at work about the ceremony and saying the vows. I mentioned that I wasn't sure if I wanted to be 'miked' during our vows so that everyone could hear us... am I making sense? I was just curious what everyone did or is planning on doing.

I haven't even thought about that either. Possibly a mic in the general area but not one right up to my face. I don't wanna hear myself really loud throughout the church, I'll end making a funny sound or a squeal LOL then it will be over and I won't stop laughing!

I have never attended a wedding where you did not hear the bride and groom say their vows. That is why you are there!

I agree why would you invite people to your wedding if they are not there to witness everything. It would seem wrong and I'm pretty sure it would have a bunch of people scratching their heads going what's going on I can't hear them.

if you are having a video - you are going to want to be on a mic so that you can hear it back on the video

I was in one of my best friends bridal party and meanwhile we were at the church, when it came to say the vows, the priest handed them a microphone to say their vows. I was shocked. I am getting married in the same church and I do not want them to hand me a mircrophone, personally. I have heard that the photographer will put a small microphone on the grooms lapel so they can record the vows. As for a microphone as to where the whole church can hear, I know my FH would prefer not too and so do I. I would be worried that I would screw up my vows in front of people as they are listening. LOL. It's bad enough I have a fear of tripping down the aisle.

That's so weird because almost all the weddings I've been to, you couldn't hear the bride and groom say their vows. You can hear everything else in the ceremony just not that part.

From what I've seen, more often than not, I can't hear the bride and groom. That's their choice. Personally, I want to shout it from the rooftops, so I'm fine with having them heard.

Now that I am thinking about it - I have never heard the bride and groom! even when i was in the bridal party - and the closest to the couple

I don't want to have a microphone ( besides the one for the video) Not that i don't want other people to hear our vows - but they are an intimate exchange and I don't want any feedback or wierd noises or anything like that - as long as we hear eachother I am fine. . .and i think everyone knows whats going on so its sweet that usually the couple is whispering to each other!

Lol, I grabbed the mic from Fr. Tom when I said my vows!! I know I'm soft spoken and people always have a hard time hearing me.

We were mic'd.
Well, DH & the Officiant was mic'd. For seperate reasons...

The DJ provided the mic for the officiant so everyone could hear the ceremony.

The videographer provided the mic for DH - for well....the video

I think usually just the groom has a mic, but usually you can't hear the vows that well.

I will say be careful where they put the mic!! my brother in law was mic'd and it was too close to his face (maybe on the collar?) he had so much nervous laughter and it was very prominent on the wedding video (but not at the church).....he joked around when we watched it that he sounded like beavis & butthead!!!

We're having a mic, but it'll be discreet (I hope). I just pray that I dont sound jittery or too nervous for everyone else to hear!!

I think that the guests really like to hear you say the Vows.

we used a microphone - we wrote our own vows to each other and everyone loved hearing them!

The priest took his mic off and put it in front of us.
